Lightweight but awkward fit

Used these for dozens of miles in Iceland. The lace hook kept coming off even with the strap at the tightest setting. A little more tension is needed here. The strap placement is awkward, almost under the heel as opposed to under the ball of the foot. Strains very long and still comes loose.

My sister and I went backpacking and I couldn't be more pleased with how my new OR Helium Gaiters worked. No rocks in my shoes, no dust, and we climbed up a glacier and they kept me dry. I wanted something lightweight and protected my shoes and lower legs and these definitely fit the bill - wore them 4 days in a row. Easy on and off and fit me well. Also I wanted the red upper part because so many of my things are black and get lost in the bottom of my pack. These are easy to find.

I’m using these for all of my hikes and snowshoeing. My calves are nice and warm, and my feet are dry! I always thought my calves were big, but they still fit really well. My calves are 14 inches at the west part. These are easy on and off and super light if you are carrying them in your pack.

Gaiters are great

Comfortable and water/snow proof to extend my hiking season.

Lightweight

Lightweight and thin. Great at shedding water and snow. Stay away from thorns.

Women's Gaiters

The quality and fabric seems very good, I havent had a chance to try wear them yet.

Sizing chart does not work - big calves beware

Product itself is fine. But the sizing chart, which uses shoe size, does not work. I'm a women's size 10 1/2 and there was NOW WAY the size L/XL would fit my calves. There was a ONE INCH GAP at the widest part of the calf and the gaiters would just not close. To be honest, I laughed. Why does XL and XXL exist for men and not for women? I had to get men's size L and even then, the fit was quite snug (I also tried on men's Crocodile gaiters and couldn't even fit in size L). Here's a suggestion : make unisex gaiters (no men's and women's models) based on a size chart that uses calf circumference and not shoe size :)

Great Gaiters

I bought these for a West Coast Trail hike. One snap broke within the 7 days. But Outdoor Research was quick to send a new set and no expense. They have great gear. This was lightweight and fit true to size.

These gaiters seem nice, but the calves are just slightly too small. I can almost get them velcroed at the widest point, but not quite. For reference my calves are 16" around; I'm 5'6" and usually wear a women's size 8 or medium. I thought these would fit me because I previously tried their wide calf gaiters (the Outdoor Research Crocodile Gaiters - women's L Wide) and they were way too big, as in falling off my legs. Nothing here for mid-sized women I guess.

Lightweight gaiter for packing away

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The helium gaiter does exactly what it is intended to do; they are packable and lightweight. I have not torn the material yet, but I do not push these gaiters through brush because I think they might tear easily. They hold up well to a light rain and are very easy to put on. One tip for fit: I wear a size 8.5 US women's boot and size down to get a good fit from these gaiters if you do not have a larger circumference leg.
