Runs large
I was so excited to receive these shell mittens as a gift, but the sizing runs huge and unfortunately, I can't use them. I am a small woman and received these in an XS, which fits the circumference of my hand according to the size chart. However, these were over 1.5" too long on my fingers and flop around even when layered over another glove. I ended up giving them to my husband, who typically wears men's M gloves. He can even wear these over other ski mitts without a problem, which suggests these run very large. I was disappointed that a unisex XS fits more like a men's M, especially since these go all the way up to an XL in available sizes! I would really love to see more inclusive sizes or a dedicated women's version that fits smaller hands. Other than the sizing issues, they seem like good shell mittens. My husband seems to like them - he says they add nice warmth and wind protection while skiing and are super packable.

I bicycle during the coldest winter days and use these overtop of either knit gloves or heavy leather gloves, depending on the temps. Fingers stay comfortable warm and dry.

Army and hiking
I used the Revel Shell Mitts to climb multiple mountains. They allow for a much easier mitt change during intense ascents while also providing the option to keep a mitten or glove underneath. During my winter exercises as part of my military duties, they allowed me to manipulate my weapon quickly without freezing my hands, especially when combined with a pair of Vigor Lightweight or Medium Sensor gloves. The combination of these two gloves is just perfect from -10 to -20 degrees.

Awesome shell mitts.
These are the cats meow. I put a thin pair of the merino wool mitts on the inside and wow. Perfect pairing. Even on their own they rock. Must have for anyone one who plays outside in the spring or anytime really.

I bought these one size up, to fit over the inner mitt of the OR Alti Mitts. They fit perfectly and the grip on the hiking poles is phenomenal. Of course wind and waterproof, so actually added a bit of noticeable warmth as well. First test up Tucks on Mt Washington to the bowl and these were perfect in “mild” conditions - 15mph winds and 20d F. Above this, put the Alti outer mitten on.

Great shell mitts
These mitts are lightweight but do a great job of blocking wind and water. I use some flurry gloves underneath them in the cold weather or just use the shells by themselves for shoulder seasons.

Inexplicably bad design

They chose a mechanism for cinching the cuff that requires two hands - and I only have one hand available to use! My old shell mitts (REI) are a very similar design and only require one hand to cinch. I'm returning these due to the baffling design fail.

Not Water Proof as advertise
Wore this on top of my Sureshot Heated Softshell Gloves and after a day of skiing my globes were wet.

A necessity.
This is a perfect item to complement my glove quiver.

Excellent for cycling.
The shell overmitts allow me to wear summer cycling gloves inside them in mild rainy weather. In colder weather, I can wear a warmer layer inside. The mittens are my choice for wet-weather riding. Wet or dry, the palm material is grippy on the handlebars. This is a superb feature. The long gauntlet with drawstring and cord-lock allows me to seal out the wind at my jacket's cuffs. In rainy weather, I shingle the gauntlets under my sleeves to keep rainwater out of the mittens. These 2021 mittens replace my earlier pair which wore out (surprise!) after about ten years of winter commuting - almost daily - in eastern Ontario (often at -20C). The new version seems even better-built than my originals.
