Why We Like The Outdoor Research Rialto Fleece Lined Pant
To shield our legs from icy temps and pelting spindrift, we pull on Outdoor Research's Rialto Fleece Lined Pant. The tech exterior sheds light precipitation, while the fleecy interior wicks away moisture and holds in warm air. As we trek, the stretch construction and crotch gusset give us full range of motion for those high steps and debris scrambles, and through it all, the elasticated and belted waist stays put without digging or pinching.

The perfect outdoor and travel pants
First off, these things are seriously awesome. Calling them fleece lined is a bit confusing, before they arrived I thought there'd be two layers of fabric, one for the weatherproof shell and one for the warm fleece. Nope, these are a single layer, and it's awesome how they get so much performance out of a fabric. Warmth is great, had them out in 40 degree temperatures and felt nice and warm. The waterproofing is also great, the DWR coating repelled all the water from bring in the rain for over an hour. These will be my new favorite pants for traveling, as well as for winter sports. The built in belt is functional, the only complaint is that for the price I'd prefer an aluminum buckle over plastic.
