Warm but not waterproof
Overall, these are warm mitts that are great for post activity type stuff, i.e. hanging out by a camp fire. But they are far from waterproof. I'd only consider bringing them in the backcountry if I knew for sure I wouldn't need to have my hand in the snow too much. I wore them unburying my car from snow and they were pretty wet. Pretty bummed as I was hoping to use them x-country skiing this year.

Not hardcore, but plenty good enough!
When I first received these, I though I probably should have spent the crazy money for serious waterproof gore tex type megamittens, but turns out these are more than adequate for almost all my skiing situations. Paired with thin gore tex liner gloves that I use year round, these became the perfect outer layer that I could take off on steep skins on warm days, but also kept my hands toasty on gnarly cold windy lift rides. Gripped poles well and slid through the loops when I needed those. Yay. But their value for me is really over the liner - on their own, I wouldn't trust them for any backcountry missions or serious cold.

I Love These Gloves
These gloves are fantastic for any kind of outdoor activity. I use these hiking, cross country skiing, walking, running and snowshoeing. They are also warm enough that I can use them driving too and from work or anywhere. They are light weight but super warm. I used them when it was -30C and was never cold, the only thing is that I would actually over heat a little in them but I'd rather that than be too cold. They are waterproof as well which is awesome

Wrong shape for my hands
Given the placement of the narrowing for the wrist and the length of the fingers, the corner that meets the space between my thumb and index finger was in the wrong place. The size seemed fine, but they were the wrong shape for my hands.
