Why We Like The Outdoor Research Snowcrew Anorak
Built for snowsports in frigid conditions, The Outdoor Research Snowcrew Anorak is both insulated and waterproof with plenty of ski-friendly and snowboard-friendly features. With 100g synthetic insulation, the jacket holds in more body heat than an uninsulated ski jacket while the 2-layer Ventia stretch shell is waterproof, windproof, and breathable to keep us comfortable in flurries and flying powder. The Snowcrew also includes underarm vents, a powder skirt, and helmet-compatible hood to maintain a comfortable micro-climate inside the jacket, keep snow off our skin, and keep us protected run after run.

A new favourite anorak
I purchased this during the 'friends and family' event for a friend whose home was one of the many lost during our Jasper AB wildfire tragedy in July 2024. She was able to get on the mountain over Christmas and the anorak was "just perfect!" which is saying a lot as she was helmet to ski tips working out how all of her new gear was feeling. "The side zips make it easy to don and doff. For colder days I will wear an extra underlayer and for spring it'll be ideal over one thermal layer. I love the fit, the length of the body and sleeves and the handy pockets. If I could add anything, an arm pocket for my pass, but the chest pocket is also the right height for the scanner so I'm all-around very happy. And it looks freaking awesome on!" Thank-you OR for the special events when we may shop for our special people.

Great winter jacket!
This coat is cozy and functional! It is a tad difficult to get off as a pullover though. The pockets are great and there is a good amount of insulation.

Super cute and comfy!
Love the way this looks and feels. I wish they had more colors because the darker rusty copper/orange is not really my thing, and the yellow is very intense. However, this makes you very easy to find in the snow which my friends appreciate. Easy to take on and off, and feels very well made. I'm 5'6 and 130-140lbs, the small fit fine, but I think I medium would also fit! I have a bigger booty, so the small was just a tad too fitted around the butt area for me personally, but I was looking for a baggy look.

Compliments!
While checking tickets, a lift operator complimented my new OR anorak and bib ensemble! She mentioned how she liked the color combination and how it coordinated with my complexion. It made my day that much better.

Way too big
I absloutely loved everything about this coat but the sizing guide seems way off. I followed the recommended sizing guide and it suggested I would be XL after I measured myself. I thought that size seemed too big so I ordered a large instead. When I received the large in the mail and tried it on, it was way too big on me. I like my ski/snowboard coats big but I think I could've went with a size medium or small. The sizing guide for this coat is way off. I usually am a large to XL with Burton but I would recommend going even smaller with Outdoor Research.

Comfortable, warm, flattering.
Wore this for 3 days of skiing. It is comfortable, warm, and flattering on. The deep front packet was perfect for keeping the essentials (phone, wallet, etc.) and easy to access even on the lift. My only complaint is that it's a little tricky to get on and take off with just the side zipper access. However, most ski gear is clunky in some way and I feel that effort is outweighed by the other benefits of the coat.

OR does it again!!
First off I love anything OR!! I was stoked to pick up a new FUN snowboard kit for the season, especially being in a larger body. It's easy for my friends to find me on the slopes since it stands out and it gets tons of compliments. The two front pockets are great options for phone and snacks and easy to get stuff out on the lift even if it's crowded. It's weatherproof, the right amount of warmth for Washington and Alaska resort riding (where just a good base layer underneath is perfect) with lots of vent options. The only and very limited cons: No lift pass pocket on the arm so I either need to buy an arm band for it or continue getting it out of my pocket and risk dropping it each time. I prefer to use the chest pocket for credit card/ID, so I don't like keeping my lift pass there plus it's awkward to tap rfid scanners. The side zipper goes from waist to armpit to allow for lots of venting, but it needs to be rezipped after falls or a couple runs because the bottom zipper works its way up. Still definitely recommend to anyone as long as you're ok with a work around for your lift pass! Just hoping next iteration can at least include a lift pass pocket :)
