Why We Like The Patagonia Quandary 10in Short
Whether we're trolling for trout or snagging summits, the Patagonia Quandary 10in Short keeps us dry against the thrash of our catch and moving free along technical rock scrambles. Recycled fishing nets were used to create the tough, quick-drying nylon threads to protect our skin and the earth, while the fabric's stretch moves with us, the tight weave armors us against the relentless sun, and the treated exterior sheds drizzles.

Disappointed
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:

I have had three pairs of the previous version of the Quandary 10” shorts and I have worn them pretty much every day weather permitting for the last five years or so. Whether I am working around my place or in and out of the river on paddling trips, they were perfect for my use. Unfortunately, my oldest spare had several patch tears, and I decided to buy a new pair to put in rotation. I was very disappointed to find that Patagonia had shortened the zipper, change the access to the thigh pocket from top to the side where it is less secure and less accessible, and shorten the main front pockets so that my cell phone bumps my pelvis with every step and is uncomfortable when seated. These are still good shorts that while I gave the old version five stars, the new version is enough of a disappointment that I could only rally for three stars. It appears to me that it was changed just for change sake because there are certainly not functionally improved

Better than the old model
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- Medium
Finger loops feel way more sturdy on this new model. Thumb loop is a nice add and prevented rock rash where I would typically would have gotten it. I've always loved Ocun compared to the other brands so glad they upgraded!

Super comfortable, slim look

Bought these in the blue color just to have them go on sale after I bought them. Maybe I can get a price adjustment?? Anyway, love the short. Wanted long and wondered if the 10 inch length would be enough. Seems to be the same length as Prana 11 inch shorts. As far as size is concerned, they seem to run a little big. This 36 inch waist is bigger than my Faljraven, Outdoor Research, and Black Diamond shorts. They come in odd sizing so will get the 35 inch next time.
