With the comfort of a running shoe and the tech of a mountain bike shoe, the PEARL iZUMi Canyon SPD Mountain Bike Shoe is ready to tackle anything from hot laps after work to weekend coffee rides. The two-bolt cleat platform is bolstered by a composite shank for efficient pedaling, while the carbon rubber outsole ensures we have tons of traction off the bike for hike-a-bike situations. Good Looking Shoe but toe box too tight
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I love the look of this shoe and it seems to be well made. However, the toe box is too narrow, even though the length was good, I wore it around the house for about 30 min until m forefoot began to throb and hurt. I ordered a 39 women's and usually wear a 7.5 or 8 in casual and running shoes. I mostly wear Merrell, Xero, or NB barefoot-type shoes with wide toe box, so guess I'll have to spend more to get a Lake shoe with wide toe box.

Not for high instep
Overall seems like a good clip in shoe, but shoes were returned. I was hoping with the lace up style it would fit my high instep. Unfortunately there is a 1/4” strip of elastic that goes over the instep, this caused me pain after a few minutes. It looks like it could possibly be expanded a bit by snipping some stitching and releasing a small loop. I didn’t want to alter the shoe and not be able to return it. Guess I didn’t like them enough to give it a try. Be sure to use the sizing chart for correct length.
