This blanket is not the softest, and I wouldn’t recommend sleeping with it directly on you because wool can make you itchy, but if you freeze at night, this should really help because it’s VERY warm. I bought the twin size, and it’s cut nice & big. You won’t have to “short sheet” your own bed to tuck it in. As far as holding up to being washed goes, I’ve washed it once with wool shampoo in cold water & line dried it, and it came out great. It’s an investment, but if taken care of properly, I think it will last a really long time.

Perfect midweight washable blanket

Overall, I love this Pendleton washable wool blanket. It has the right amount of warmth/breathability and is well-made and attractive. Only point I'd mention is that it took a wash with air-drying to remove a bit of a scent from the blanket, which may have been the result of manufacturing/dye. It was definitely noticeable from first use, but now gone, and the blanket is perfect. I have since washed it several times, and it holds up wonderfully - no pilling, etc.
