Petzl Am'D Screwlock Carabiner
The Am’D lightweight asymmetrical carabiner is made of aluminum. It has a D shape particularly suited for connection to diverse equipment such as descenders or positioning lanyards. Its fluid interior design and Keylock system facilitate handling. The Am’D carabiner is available in three locking systems: automatic TRIACT-LOCK or BALL-LOCK system, or the manual SCREW-LOCK system. Am'D may be used with a CAPTIV positioning bar to favor loading of the carabiner along the major axis, to limit the risk of it flipping and to keep it integrated with the device.

Nice one, but not for Grigri

- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
My intention was to replace my William Carabiner (HMS type) that I use with my Grigri. The lighter, the better, isn't? Well, guess what? Despite the Am'D does the work, I find it too small to be used with Grigri. Don't get me wrong: it works! (That's why I am giving a 4 star rating). Just, I found it small for what I intended to use it. However, after trying it belaying with Grigri, I found that the William Carabiner performs better for this specific task. It's wider, and with rounded edges. Yes, the Am'D is smaller and lighter, but I rather use a larger one to attach my Grigri.
