Why We Like The Petzl Djinn Axess Quickdraw
For efficient clips on bolted routes, we rack up with the Petzl Djinn Axess Quickdraw. With a larger frame, a bent gate, a generous gate opening, a deep rope basket, and a retainer, the rope-end biner makes clipping quick and easy as we go for the redpoint send, while the keylock noses make cleaning the route snag-free on the way back down.

I was in the market for a new quick-pak after having used Black Diamond wiregates for a few years; and Petzl keeps popping up at the top of the quality and performance comparisons. So I decided to give these a try for a change of scenery and solid gates. They seem to have a healthy, robust gate tension/click, and the dog bone feels stiffer/sturdier than it might look. Time will tell, and I am far-from-an-expert climber; but I am excited to try these out at Red River Gorge soon.
