Pirelli Cinturato Reinforced SmarTUBE
Cinturato SmarTUBE is great for those who travel and explore the world on their bikes. It saves space and weight leaving room for water, food and extra clothing. The best companion of adventurers.
The replacement of butyl with TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) gives the Cinturato SmarTUBE its unique features, a technical innovation that redefines the concept of inner tubes, both for everyday use and as a spare tube.
The outstanding resistance against cuts and punctures of Cinturato SmarTUBE is the result of a specific formulation which is different from the road-specific P ZERO SmarTUBE, the goal was to obtain the highest protection possible without affecting weight and compactness

Reinforced SmarTUBE review
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- 700 x 28/35c
Took some of these on a 1800 mile self-supported road trip on a Kona touring bike (bike + gear + me = 250lbs). Used inside Schwab Efficiency tires. Despite the claims of being puncture resistant, I still had 2 flats vs none last year using Schwab Marathon and regular tubes. One case involved truck tire wires that littered a roadway. (The tubes won't stop a sharp wire apparently). But - they are much, much lighter than standard tubes and much more (10x) expensive ($35ea vs $25/6 standard tubes). Still - I carried 3 with me so I ended up ok (2 flats vs 3 tubes). Will continue to trial.
