I've had Platypus products for years and have the 2L version already. This one has fallen apart. First the slide stopped sealing the bag after about 5 months and leaked everywhere. So now I have to seal it by hand before putting the slide on. Then about 2 months ago the handle on the slide broke on the one side so I have to gingerly pull it out of my bag each time. Not worth the money.

Great water bladder
Used on last couple long hikes in the Utah Capitol Reef Park. Works as expected. No leaks. Quality product.

Old Big Zip was better
Old big ZIP was better easier to clean. New bags are terrible. Who ever designed this should be fired.

It's okay
I like the pouch filling it was a little hard and I wish it had the magnetic clip for your bag instead of the plastic one

I am very displeased
My reservoir was delivered two days before my backpacking trip and arrived with a small hole in it. This caused it to leak and resulted in the inability to use it during my backpacking trip. I was extremely disappointed in the fact that it arrived in this poor condition because I specifically bought this because it was supposed to be a good brand. I tried calling the number for the website and no one ever answered so I am very displeased and will not make another purchase from this company.

Confused
Purchased a 3L and loved it…..until the bite valve came off and we found that the bite valve & shut off valve were filled with some sort of gel-like substance. Can’t even remotely clean it out. Searched for info on what it is, and can’t figure out what it is. SO disappointed.

Big Zip 3 liter Bladder
This is my 2nd one. Finished the AT with my first one in 2012. Still working but time for a clean bladder. Backpacked with it this summer and still love it as much as I did on the AT!

Some great features but one major design flaw
No plastic water taste, great flow and awesome improvement on the bite valve BUT water stays in the fixed hose on the back after you’re done using it and it’s a pain to get the water out so it doesn’t get too funky. The old version had the hose valve at the bottom which never allowed water to sit unless you left the hose on. I wish you guys made the old version with the new bite valve, that would be the magic recipe.
