Rainier IR V3 Dropper Seatpost
The Rainer dropper post has earned a solid reputation for consistent, reliable performance, so rather than changing the formula entirely PNW opts for some minor refinements that make this third-generation the best one yet. Travel is increased, and the travel is now adjustable in 5mm increments so you can fine-tune the fit if your ideal travel is somewhere between 170 and 200mm. At the same time, the post's total length is shortened, which is always a good thing—especially for bikes with interrupted or shortened seat tubes.

Not impressed. It shifts left to right.

So I have a LUNA X2 Ludicrous EMTB, & I installed to replace the KS 100mm Remote dropper post but even though the KS is cheaper. It was way better when it came to not moving at all left or right. I have a PNW COAST on my Hardtail, & I assumed the movement right & left was due to the integrated 30mm travel suspension. But now I bought this Rainier 3 170mmTraval. Set to 0 & it does the EXACT same thing. I don't know how detrimental this is, or if it will cause issues or failures in the future. But the Cheap 89-dollar KS was solid as a rock. Tbh in 200 dollar range I'd consider higher end KS models. I contacted PNW will update if I learn anthing new.

Good dropper post
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Functions exactly how it needs to consistently. In use for 2 years, only one minor tuning required. Does get a bit of play in it, but nothing that you'll notice while riding.

I purchased the Gen 3 200mm dropper and love it. Have been using it almost daily for one month. Love the 5mm increment easy adjustability. That alone is reason to purchase. Should be an industry standard.
