Why We Like The PNW Components The Loam Carbon Handlebar
Upgrading to carbon fiber handlebars can help reduce fatigue in our hands and make for a more smooth and predictable ride. The PNW Components The Loam Carbon Handlebar is one of our favorite carbon handlebars for trail enduro or downhill riding. This bar comes in a 35mm diameter, has an 800mm width, and gives us the option of a 25mm or 38mm rise. PNW's wrist-saving geometry sports a 5-degree upsweep and a 10-degree backsweep to keep our wrists happy on long sustained descents.

The backsweep sold me on this bar
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I have been experiencing minor discomfort on the outside of my hand after riding an hour or so. Despite adjusting my current carbon bar I couldn’t resolve the issue. I finally concluded if I had a little more backsweep the edge of the bar would fit my hand better. Current bar has 8 degrees backsweep. PNW Loam has 10 degrees. That was the ticket. Immediately the Loam bar felt comfortable and continues to do so after hours of riding. It dampens vibrations and responds 100% to rider input. It is not flexy at all. Way to go PNW!

The Loam handlebar has a great feel. I really like the extra degree of back sweep. They also do a great job of muting out some chatter. I installed these bars and basically forgot they were there. They are super comfortable. I also appreciated the subdued graphics. You can go crazy with a sticker kit if you want

Exceeded expectations
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times

I started with the range aluminum bar and liked the bend but wanted a little more rise. The 38 mil rise was perfect for me and the bar has better dampening than the range bar. Overall happy with my purchase.

Great upgrade from my stock aluminum bar
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I replaced the stock bar on my Orbea Wild with this and find it to be more comfortable than the old bar. Not worried about weight savings on the eMTB, but is is noticeably lighter than the aluminum bar. It is the same width, so cockpit layout is perfect. I do like the additional sweep, too. Overall a great upgrade.
