Why We Like The Rab Cirrus Ultra Hooded Jacket
When we're spending multiple days in the mountains we need the Rab Cirrus Ultra Hooded Jacket for lightweight, compact warmth. The Pertex Quantum Pro material is incredibly breathable, with a water-resistant treatment that repels light moisture when we're up against icy cliffs. The Jacket is packed with PrimaLoft insulation that maintains its heat-trapping qualities while wet, and the Thermo Ionic Lining Technology (TILT) reflects heat back to us because every bit of warmth makes a big difference on the mountain.

Incredibly warm for the weight
Incredibly warm for the weight and bulk. Definitely a stepchange in synthetic insulation. Pockets are great. Hood is superbly helmet friendly, but still easily adjustable for wearing without a helmet. Fit is a little more slimline than other Rab synthetics. If you want this as an over-everything belay jacket, size up. My superb Generator Alpine goes over everything in a Large. If I wanted this for the same job I'd need XL

Used the jacket for a
Used the jacket for a few weeks now. The warmth is really quite impressive, especially for the weight of the jacket. I’m not convinced I’ll ever pack into the pocket, that’s a bit of a battle and trying to do with gloves on would be interesting! I’ll continue with a small dry bag. The hood is also excellent. Thoroughly recommend

Excellent jacket. Warm, light and fits well. Has enough room to feel comfortable and not restrictive but fitted enough to feel warm and snug - feels true to size with and very slightly tailored. Great jacket and a good fit.
