Why We Like The Kinetic 2.0 Jacket
The Kinetic 2.0 Jacket has taken a fresh look at the technical shell by combining the stretch and breathability of a soft shell, with the waterproof protection of a hard shell. This combination is made possible by the Proflex laminate that seals out rain without hurting breathability. Meanwhile the under-helmet hood means we can comfortably get off of the wall when the weather turns.

Zipper for men's raincoat on wrong side
Purchased this for my husband in men's XL, and he thought I purchased a women's coat because the zipper was reversed. He immediately gave it a thumbs down - didn't think he could get used to the zipper on that side. Otherwise it fit nicely and true to size. Weird. Bummer.

2.0 improved

I originally purchased v1.0 when it first came out to great reviews. I found the zipper unworkable and sticky. Version 2.0 is better, the zipper is large and works well. I like the flexible and stashable nature of this highly water resistant jacket. 5'11", 180 lbs, 40" chest, 35" waist. Large fits well for me, without being form fitting.

My first test of this jacket was when i had to go out in a sudden heavy rain that was filling up the awning on our 13' SCAMP trailer. I lowered one corner and was immediately doused with a huge amount of water, none of which penetrated the jacket. very pleased. I regularly wear it when doing morning dog walk and it works well as a light wind breaker.

Great jacket
I’m a mountain guide and have been wearing shell jackets for over 50 years and this jacket is the best (and one of the most inexpensive) I’ve used. Because of the stretchiness of the material one can have a closer fit than with a conventional shell. Initially, I bought it too big and sent it back for a smaller size. I’ve used it in summer and for all my ski touring this winter, always with a rucksack and have no bobbling or signs of wear so I think that others who have this problem must have abrasive rucksack straps. Even with lots of layers underneath, including a duvet, it is still comfortable. Its lightness and packability are good for space in rucksack. I like the lack of rustling and flexibility. Hood is comfortable and spacious. It could do with an adjustment at the back of the hood to raise the peak for better visibility. Pockets are generous and work when wearing a harness and rucksack. It will be interesting to see how long it can continue to perform and see whether it can outlast goretex garments.

A good jacket but not
A good jacket but not a great one. It needs to be zipped up to the neck but when you do it takes a while or even longer getting used to so initially uncomfortable but give it a while and your persistence will be rewarded.

Well made. Lightweight but still
Well made. Lightweight but still warm and windproof. Bought large to allow layering...but have worn with just T shirt as not too bulky. Sleeves great with velcro fastening. Colour I would say as shown.

Thumbs up from me
A massive thumbs up from me. I bought 2 months ago and only got to wear today in the rain. Does exactly what it’s meant to, kept me dry. I’m in a wheelchair now but still use Rab like I did when in the mountains. Just ordered the same in the pant today.
