Rab Muon ND 50L Backpack
Minimising weight so you can maximise your time on the trail, the Muon is the ideal companion for long distance thru-hiking and trekking with a refined kit list. The ultralight, ultra-tough fabric and lightweight back system keep excess weight down and are exceptionally strong, capable of supporting heavy loads with superb stability. Built with a removable lid for when you need to strip more weight, the pack adapts to your needs, whether you’re looking to pack more gear, pick up the pace, or clock more miles.
As well as being durable and lightweight, the Spectra® Ripstop fabric is UV-resistant, perfect for hiking at high altitudes. The close-fitting TRI-FLEX™ carry system features a wraparound harness, shaped lumbar pad, and supportive hipbelt, providing reliable comfort that endures over long distances. You can adjust the fit using the forward pull hipbelt, which, along with the ultralight compression straps, helps to stabilise your load. The lower compression strap doubles up as storage, perfect for stowing your roll mat.
Grab kit quickly and easily with the simple drawstring opening, which allows the pack to expand with larger loads and compress as you work through supplies. The large front stash swallows up extra layers, while side stash pockets and harness pockets provide on-the-go access to water and snacks. There’s also space for a 3L hydration bladder inside, and poles can be fixed to the outside of the pack when you need to keep your hands free.
Built with narrower dimensions, the Muon ND50 is ideal for women or those with smaller frames.

Best pack I've ever had
I've hiked about 130km carrying 8-11kg with this backpack so far and it is by far the most stable, comfortable pack I have ever had. I think the combination of well thought-out, finetuneable compression straps and the running vest style harness make it easy to fit and pack well so that it moves and feels like it is part of my body. I feel like I could scramble and jump rocks without worrying about pack movement throwing me off balance in the way I would with another pack. It is also the first pack I have had where I have not had to constantly adjust because its moved off my hips when I scratched my nose or has just gone from being comfortable to uncomfortable for no good reason. I have gone whole days without making the slightest tweak. Because of this, it carries bigger loads more comfortably for me than smaller loads in a different pack. I've not been in hard persistent rain with it yet, but have been out with it in the rain and the water resistance held up well. I was especially pleased because I was caught in a shower unexpectedly one day and had some non-waterproof electronics in the brain but it was all perfectly dry. Others have complained about the missing hip belt pockets but that's not an issue for me. I'm quite small so hip belts bend too much for me to put a phone or other larger solid item in them. The pockets in the vest more than adequately contain what I would keep in any hip belt pockets and I usually have my phone in my pants pocket. I love the water bottle holders. They are extremely generous in size and hold a whole lot of other things than water! My only niggle are the pole carry ties. They aren't great with extending trekking poles, the poles are held quite loosely and swing all over the place. Which is a particular issue when trying to squeeze on public transport before/after a hike. I appreciate they aren't designed for that style pole but that seems like a bit of an oversight as so many light weight tents are trekking pole tents now and extendable poles are recommended for them. But, this is an incredible minor issue and one that can be readily solved with come creativity. Overall, I don't even want to use any of my other packs even if they are more appropriate for the activity I am doing. If you see a woman carrying a massive 50 litre pack on a day hike; it'll probably be me.
