This has been a really good piece that I find myself using for multiple sports. Over the Utah winter i used it as a mid-layer under a shell for resort skiing and backcountry skiing when the weather was harsh. Much better than my light down puffy - the synthetic fill a better choice IMO when there is any chance of moisture build-up. Also wore as outer layer (the slick lining make this easy) on the skin track over a softshell before I got warmed up. The pertex shell worked great against wind and snow flurries, breathes well, and no tree snags so far. Very packable and *almost* as light as my down puffy, but the shell fabric is more robust. This spring, I have worn it mountain-biking on cold Moab mornings, and on the approach to the crag. I dont think it is all that warm, but has a perfect amount of insulation/weight for any aerobic activities unless you are somewhere super cold. This is exactly what Rab designed it for and I think they nailed it. For alpine climbing this summer, not sure, but I think this may be in my pack over more more lightweight down piece, the improved weatherproofness and resistance to moisture simply make it more functional. The under-the-helmet hood is simple and functional. One internal pocket is nice for phone. Cuffs are simple but a touch tight to get over gloves, but not a huge deal. The black colour also looks quite stylish and I find myself wearing around town a lot. I will likely also use it travelling quite a bit given its styling and packability. Fit-wise I am 5'11, 168lbs, slim build and medium is perfect, trim fit. Nice work Rab!

Cuffs too loose to be able to wear - as have no adjustment
I am a big fan of RAB and have lots of their kit which I use regularly. However, the Xenair Light Alpine jacket I have just bought has no ability to tighten the cuffs, so the sleeves hang down over the end of my fingers and I cant do anything about it, so the jacket is not wearable ....and I have long arms! This is a major miss from RAB - which is very unlike them.
