3/4 Bib Shorts

The Rapha 3/4 Bib Shorts are not what they seem. Rapha doesn't want these confused with knickers, simply because knickers are a great idea that rarely gets executed perfectly. The shortfalls are always related to the fit. These 3/4 Bib Shorts fit with the comfort of Rapha's Bib Shorts, just in a longer length.

The essential element of any shorts is the chamois. And this is one we've tested and loved. Rapha calls it by the company name -- the Cytech chamois. A close inspection reveals that this is the same chamois found in Assos' F.I. Mille shorts and Roubaix knickers, only here you'll see that it is black.

Despite this sharing of technology, the 3/4 Bib Shorts are 100% Rapha. The legs have curved Roubaix Lycra panels that nicely conform to the body and avoid putting seams on the knee. The lower front of each leg has an arresting white vertical stripe with subtle 'Rapha' logos hiding until close inspection along with white reflective piping next to the stripe. The back of each leg has a small silver reflective tab stitched into the seam. The lower back has a small pocket for stashing electronic devices, cash, or a handkerchief. Above the pocket, the back has a cutout in the middle, thus minimizing moisture buildup under your jersey. The top of the bib straps are mesh for similar ventilation.

The Rapha 3/4 Bib Shorts are for riding on those days when shorts aren't enough and tights are overkill. The great thing is that even if it warms up throughout your ride, knickers rarely cause overheating. If and when that seems to start occurring, just unzip the jersey. They're available in Black and come in five sizes from Small to XX-Large.
