Nice boot
The shoe is comfortable and virtually has no break-in period. I wish that the shoe came in other leather choices and that the cloth liner would be replaced for a leather liner for longevity.

Beautiful boot but my pair has a defect
Been wearing these every other day for about a month now and they are comfy! My right boot is perfect but I keep feeling a bump on the arch of my left foot in the insole! I have inspected the insole and everything looks normal and similar to the right boot I have no idea wh going and it's not my socks.

First ever pair of Chelsea Boots
I could't find these boots at any retail outlet close by my home. I took a chance and bought them on line. I know my Iron ranger size and my 1907 size so I took a chance and purchased the same size as my Iron Rangers. Initially, I almost sent them back. They were very difficult to take off and to put on and they were stiff as heck.... That was almost 3 months ago. Today they are soft and comfortable and much easier going on and coming off. I'm so glad I stuck with them!

Good boots
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- 9
Long time Red Wing wearer and these are great. I had to size 1/2 down from my usual Red Wing size. I wear 9.5 in the work chukka, postman, everything, but these were too long so I had to return for a size 9. Hope that is helpful for yall. The foot bed is extremely comfortable out of the box. Classic Red Wing quality, feel like they will last a long time.

Easy to Break-In
Got these as an early Christmas gift from my parents. They were a little snug at first (as they should be for anyone buying online) but after a long day of use they were super comfortable. I have some experience with Red Wings, I own the Iron Ranger and the Classis Moc. Out of those 3 the Classic Chelsea has been the easiest to break-in. The build quality is good.

Overpriced, Poor Quality
Bought these boots originally about a month ago. I have a pair of boots from a PNW boot maker that I love, but needed a Chelsea style boot for a work situation where I would need to take my shoes off and put them back on multiple times per day. That boot maker doesn't make a Chelsea, so I went looking elsewhere. I hadn't tried any Red Wing heritage products before, but had heard that people love the Iron Rangers and Moc Toe boots so I decided to give these a try since they seemed close to the type of boots I had come to like. Boy, was I wrong. I was confused when I first put the boots on. The foam insoles were topped with leather which was... odd for a heritage boot. I figured it was maybe to make the boots more approachable by adding some under-foot comfort and who doesn't like that? Once I got the boots home, I realized that the pair I was sold was actually two different sizes in the same box. The store claimed they were like that from the factory and seemed to struggle to figure out what to do about this. No big deal - they figured out they'd order me a new pair. That's fine. Except that it wasn't. The new pair I had received (and already paid for) had some obviously wacky stitching in the welt around the big toe on the right boot. Just cosmetic, I figured. But a defect nonetheless. So I wore them for a couple days until the boots tried to eat a hole through the back of my heel. I reached a hand in to make sure there was no debris or anything that would be making this happen only to find the debris was actually a piece of the boot. There's a sharp piece of plastic Red Wing is trying to pass off as a heel counter covered by the world's thinnest leather liner. That vicious heel counter feels like it's covered with a paper thin layer of leather. As I explored the boot, I realized the leather liner stops and becomes... synthetic something? I don't know what the toe liner material is. It would be possible to let any of these individual transgressions against the boot gods slide, but once those plastic heel counters announced themselves too loudly to ignore, it brings all the elements into focus in a way that makes me regret I bought these. For the price, I'd expect a heritage boot. Is Red Wing's heritage building boots with plastic parts? The thinnest possible linings? Switching to synthetic materials in places they don't expect people to look? Misplacing stitches with no apparent quality control? If so, Red Wing's heritage doesn't deserve to be carried on any further and definitely doesn't deserve another dollar of mine or yours. I added a star because the boots almost look nice (except for the wonky stitching) and the upper leather appears to be of decent quality.

Comfortable as heck
I love the feel. Can wear them all day. The soles are relatively flat so no debris gets stuck. They are a bit difficult to get on at first but they do loosen up.

Review after 3 years
I’ve owned these boots for 3 years now. For reference, I wear them about 6 months out of the year and a couple times throughout the summer time. Let me start by saying there really isn’t a “break in” period with these. Right out of the box, they are very comfortable. As you wear them, they obviously will mold to your foot bed. The quality is 8.7 out of 10. The elastic is starting to get pretty stretched out. The leather itself is awesome if you take care of it. Overall, I highly suggest buying this boot! Whether it’s dress up or just going to the store, these are perfect to slip on and go.

Painful Boot
So I bought these boot when they came out. Was super excited about an all black pair of red wing heritage boot. The boots all around look amazing. However I must gotten a bad boot…I understand the whole break in process and there a bit hard on your feet the first few wears. For whatever reason it’s been over a year and my right boot kills the ball of my inner heel. This isn’t my first pair of red wings. So it’s strange to me that this is happening. I really just figured it was part of the break in process. But once I really looked at the boot and started checking…it feels like the heel part of the boot is bumpy and hard in some spots. My left boot on the other hand feels amazing. Broke in nicely and I could wear them all day. For the record I was wearing these boots about 3-4 times a week for work. So about 8-10 hours of use per day. So they were “broken in”. Obviously it’s been too long and I can’t exchange them or return them. So now they’re just sitting in my closet.
