Shoes are great

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Size Bought:
9.5 D
Height:
5' 10"
Weight:
210

I purchased the Oro version. These will definitely need to be slowly broken in. But they are what I expected, and similar to work shoes I wore in 70s. I usually take a size 9 or 9.5. Other reviews mentioned they can run small, so I was glad I ordered the 9.5. The fit seems good but as I said time will tell once they break-in. They appear very well made and I pleased so far with the purchase. The price through Backcountry was about $30 cheaper than just about any other seller. I still think they are pricey, but the build quality of the shoes out of the box is impressive and in-line with my expectations. These were shipped FedEx but they delivered the shoes to the wrong address, sending me and Backcountry an email delivery notification having a picture of the delivery home (which wasn’t mine). After calling the fedex facility that loaded the actual delivery truck, I was able to get them deliver the shoes to my address same day. I wasn’t thrilled with Backcountry customer service on the phone. I first got a person that was not in the US. They really were of no help and difficult to speak to in English. A call to an actual person at Backcountry wasn’t much better in terms of what could be done immediately. I was told I needed to wait 48 hours before any investigation could be done. Calling FedEx, they told me the person shipping had to intervene and call. All I wanted Backcountry to do was to call FedEx and ask them to pick them up and deliver it the correct address. No, Backcountry would not. Good thing I was to get a phone number for the FedEx facility actually delivering the shoes to my home, no thanks to FedEx or Backcountry. I hope your shipping experience will be better.

Redwing Shoe OXFORD

The leather is robust and takes time to break-in. I used the same break-in process for these as I did for my 875's and 1907's. Start with good sock and very short walks and I do mean short. I've found to brake-in the RED WING's so they're comfortable it takes about 240 hours. After 240 the shoe become very comfortable. First 100 hours are the worst due to the stiffness of the leather. If you walk too much in new shoes your feet will: get raw sore and may bleed. Don't ask me how I know. After the break-in Red Wing become one with your foot! I ask RED WING for one thing. In your line of shoes and boots please include an option for choosing something other than a D width. RED WING for some unknown reason manufactures many models of shoes which are limited to D width only. That would be like buying a new truck and the only color option is white or you could choose white or maybe white. It won't work. Whoever is in a Leadership role needs to review business models & swim lanes for new products being introduced!!!!!!!!

If I only had one pair of shoes...

The Shop Moc Oxford would be it. This is a serious shoe for serious work... take your time, break them in slowly and you will love them. To add to a previous commenter's thoughts... oxford version of some of your other boots would be most welcome... and if there is a way to sign up for new product notifications I would love that as well. I had to haunt the website for almost two years before the Shop Moc Oxford became available! If you made other "dressier" Oxford versions, I would be a buyer.

*Almost* Perfect Puffer Pants

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Size Bought:
Large

Love these pants. They're super-warm and super-comfortable. The only two things that would make them better would be zips on the front pockets so that items don't fall out, and the addition of a pack pocket. Small quibbles overall.

Great looking

Bought these last month and the slipping in the back has caused terrible blisters. Don’t know if they are even useable.

(Surprisingly) Great

I'm in my third year of wearing these. The reason I'm writing the review is that I feel these don't get enough love. In person they look much better than on photos, I remember that I sort of just skipped over when I first saw them online. The oxfords are much easier to put on and look great, so I tend to wear them more often than any of my heritage boots. The outsoles are great for comfort but they do wear quicker than other types, at least that's my experience. All in all, a highly recommended product. I hope that Red Wing will reissue oxford versions of Beckman's or Blacksmith's. Once "boot guys" try the oxford versions they want both.

Narrow

I will starts off with saying the shoes well made beautiful leather and I just saw where it is I predicted it’s just the narrowness is really troubling. I’ve we’re on for couple months and tried freezing them and wearing literally five pairs of socks it’s just for whatever reason they like to squish in my little toe

Offer WIDE option, like everyone wants!

This is the second time Red Wing has released the classic oxford in ten years (with minor differences, eyelets & welt), and the second time they are only offering in their EXTREMELY narrow D width. I bought it then and it didn't fit, and the same is true today. Sizing up doesn't help because I just end up with an ill-fitting shoe that's too big. If you have "regular" wide foot and wear the classic moc boot (875) in 2E like most people, forget it! This isn't going to work. Come on Red Wing! Wide footed people like these products too. Listen to the reviews and stop forgetting about us.

Disappointed

I’m very disappointed the most of the heritage don’t offer a wide option. I’m forced to buy a size bigger and are still way narrowed and uconfortble to walk.
