Why We Like The WCS Carbon Link Flexlogic Seatpost

Built to bring a bit more comfort to our cross-country and gravel bikes the Ritchey WCS Carbon Link Flexlogic Seatpost has included compliance in a stiff carbon package. This seatpost uses LINK carbon layup to include a bit of flex, so big impacts are better absorbed through our post instead of our bodies. Ritchey boasts that this post is 15% more compliant than stiff posts, meaning that we're bound to be 15% faster by the end of an event.

Gorgeous seatpost...but too much setback

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

This is a gorgeous seatpost, and I really like the two-bolt fixing system. Unfortunately, when I hold it up to my current lesser quality seatpost (which has zero offset), I can see this seatpost isn't going to work. The saddle support rails go too far back, and I would run out of saddle rail if I were to install it. I have a Selle SMP saddle which needs to be placed 10-15mm more forward than other saddles, and I can see now it will only work with a zero setback post and probably not every one of those. Just something to keep in mind in case you run a Selle SMP saddle. Hopefully Ritchey makes a zero offset post that's as nice as this one.
