Why We Like The Roval Traverse SL 350 II Wheel
Having lighter and stiffer wheels can change our ride quality a lot. The Roval Traverse SL 350 II Wheel is a lightweight carbon fiber wheel designed to take our trail riding to the next level. These wheels feature a wide and shallow rim and front and rear-specific carbon layups for the best combination of durability and weight savings. With a 30mm internal diameter rim, we are set to ride wider tires for more traction, and the Flat Top bead helps reduce pinch flats. Offset spoke holes help to balance the tension to reduce fatigue on the rim, and the engineered shape of the rim flexes a little to provide optimal traction and stability. To top it off, the Roval Traverse SL II 350 Wheels come with DT Swiss's 550 hubs for fast engagement that won't break the bank.

Solid Upgrade
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Stumpjumper Expert. Swapped out the stock wheels and tires for the Royal Carbon wheel set and Specialized S-Works Fast Track tires. Bike is now over 2 pounds lighter - all rotating mass. My average speed on my typical route went from 11.3 mph to 12.8 mph, and my top speed (on the flats) increased from 18.0 to 22.4. I saved the stock beefy wheels and tires for future trail rides. Most of what I ride is "flow" and doesn't need the stock heavy casing wheels. My background is road bike riding, so those heavy downhill oriented wheels and tires just feel overkill. Your mileage may vary, as they say. Anyway, the bike now feels much more lively. I picture it more of a XC/Flow/Trail Bike than anything else. If your full suspension trail bike feels portly - I'd recommend this wheel set. I honestly can feel the difference.
