Handle does not extend fully
The 3rd telescopic section of the handle on one side gets stuck and is practically impossible to get loose to the fully extended position. So the 1st two sections move smoothly, and one side releases the 3rd section, but the other side gets stuck after two and will not come loose without significant, aggressive pulling to the risk of breaking it. Overall great cooler, but handle borderline needs to be replaced.

Inferior handle design
The telescoping handle is very weak and cannot handle the weight of the cooler with product inside. (It broke!) The handle available with the larger cooler is sturdy and a much better design. Very disappointed in my purchase. Furthermore, it says a lot that these were put on the market for sale. they sell a replacement handle under accessories. It's "sold out"

Looks great, need my beach wheels.
I will rate it a 5 star for now. When the beach wheels are back in stock we will put it to the real test.

Better for the beach than the woods?
Planning for a week-long trip without access to anywhere close, I researched the best ice chests and found the RovR with the best reviews versus Yeti, RTIC and others. I wanted to love the RovR and “test drove” it in an easy evaluation. I followed the instructions exactly. I brought the “45” into the house the day before; partially filled it the night before to cool it down; filled the chest with things straight from the refrigerator or freezer and then filled the remaining space with ice. We traveled for 4 hours and stopped at a place with a refrigerator. We removed all food and placed in the fridge or freezer. The next morning, we replaced the food and topped the 45 off with ice. We continued to our destination – also with a refrigerator and removed all the food. The ice chest remained in an air-conditioned house for 5 days, with the lid closed and never opened. When we packed to return home, I opened the chest and had cool water and no ice. The hope for 7 to 10 days with no access to ice leaves me disappointed and am returning it. What I liked about the RovR 45: I like the “deep freeze” to be able to store foods I don’t want to get wet. I like that the first day and a half there was very little melted water that drained out. I like the design of the slope inside that allows fast, easy draining. What I did not like: 1. Obviously the 4 days of keeping ice from melting without opening the lid. 2. The handle design does not handle the weight of the chest, even when empty. In the first, lower position for pulling the 45 up a small step, the weight of an empty chest will jerk the handle loose to the fully extended position. Even then the handle is not “stiff” and makes handling the chest difficult. I have better handles on a rolling suitcase. 3. The capacity of the 45-quart cooler does not provide as much space for food as I would expect. In fact, the REI description of the capacity is: “The 45 Cooler capacity is as follows: With the Deepfreeze dry bin installed: 24 cans and 10 pounds of ice in the main compartment and 4-6 bottles upright with other food stuffs in the dry compartments. Without the Deepfreeze dry bin installed: 60 cans and 10 pounds of ice.” I was packing, and would pack more than cans and bottles, and I did use 10 pounds of ice but took fish, meat, vegetables, and fruit. I am thinking / wondering if the 45 is designed for a day at the beach rather than outdoor camping. I hope you find my comments helpful and am disappointed that it is not the solution I need.

Amazing cooler
This cooler is amazing! We bought the 80 and drove for 3 days in July. We never needed to replace the ice. We got this 45 for another road trip.

WHERE IS MY STUFF????
It is hard to review something when I have not even got it yet. I ordered weeks ago. I sent an email and still waiting on a reply. So far I will not be recommending this brand to anyone and wold tell them to go else where.

Absolutely LOVE this cooler!
I received this cooler for Christmas from my husband and it has been the absolute best! I am a travel hockey mom - rolling this in and out of hotels - with the attached tote - is perfect. I took away 1 star because the telescoping handle does not extend past the first click - I have gotten it to extend fully without significant effort.

Tough!
Loving it. Took it to our first lakeside picnic. I was surprised that it held my five year old. She climbed on top of it while I pulled it back to the car. Built tough!
