good fit but problems

Salewa fits me well. I have a moderately narrow foot. I became a Salewa fan because the boots came with footbed inserts (the "multi-fit footbed") that allowed me to make the left boot (my smaller foot) fit just as well as the right foot. There were no footbed inserts included with this purchase-- not sure if that is a Salewa thing or a Backcountry thing. The laces are exceptionally long which makes it a real possibility that the lace from one boot will catch on the top lace hook of the other boot. This has happened to me multiple times and only with Salewa boots (& I have owned lots of boots). I have to squeeze the hook closer to the boot with pliers and double lace the ties to minimize the chance of this happening. The only person who would want to buy this boot is someone with a moderately narrow foot.

I’ve been hiking Utah for years. And practicing yoga do I need a boot with room for my yoga toe spread. I’m currently in New Zealand on a 3 week hiking trip. I tried ten different hiking boot brands prior to trip and chose these after much consideration. They’ve been fabulous Comfortable and supportive and grippy. Room for my toes. Did pretty well in 80 inches of rain in 4 hours. However I am going to purchase the higher gotten style for next trip

Nice but after one year

Hello backcountry team, my boots are no longer working. The seams have torn and water is leaking in. What should I do for the guarantee? After one year they look 5 years old :(

Comfortable but Not waterproof

I was initially very happy with these boots, having switched from a Merrill pair which were too clunky. These are handsome, comfortable and nicely supportive. They have a secure fit but there is room for my toes to breathe. If they did not have the Waterproof label I would have no complaints, but it does say WP, and they are NOT WP. Walking through a very wet field, the top of toe was soaked through. This was not immersion, just wet grass. and my socks got wet. It is disappointing. I may see if a spray will help but why do they advertise as waterproof?
