Why We Like The Salomon Genesis GORE-TEX Trail Running Shoe
Winter's snow-dusted trails, shoulder seasons' wet and muddy conditions, and summer's sudden storms have us lacing into Salomon's Genesis GORE-TEX Trail Running Shoe more often than not. The breathable membrane shuts out all the muck and mire of waterlogged trails without causing our feet to overheat, while the outsole's multidirectional lugs chew up the terrain, ensuring we don't lose any ground or energy to slips and slides. Equipped with an Active Chassis for lateral support and lightweight EVA-OBC midsole foam for cushion and energy that lasts, the Genesis keeps us chasing longer distances.

Beautiful shoe but way too wide
I've run technical trails and snowy pavement in Minnesota for years on Speedcross GTX. Tried the Genesis for the promise of a bit more stability and pronation control. This shoe is much, much wider than Speedcross has been. Hopefully Salomon isn't going for that "American fit" and the Speedcross 6, which I'll order once my return goes through, won't also be this wide.
