Why We Like The Salomon Genesis Shoe
If we are looking for skinny alpine trails, sketchy rock scrambles, and breathtaking views, the Salomon Genesis Shoe will help take us there. Featuring a lightweight, breathable, but incredibly durable Matryx synthetic upper, the Genesis can withstand abuse from rocky trails and scree scrambles. The Genesis features Salomon's Active Chassis for versatile support paired with an Energy Foam midsole for the cushion to give us an optimal balance between comfort and performance. For a reliable grip, the Contragrip rubber outsole deploys 4mm lugs in a chevron shape for a stable center, while the 5mm shoulder lugs ensure traction in all scenarios.

runs a bit small and tight
Havent run enough but seem fine, just annoying I had to return because 8.5 which I wore for years was definitely a size too small

Too narrow.
I don't have an especially wide foot, but in my normal size my foot was so constricted across the forefoot that it cut off circulation - I still had plenty of room in the toes, so it's not that the shoe is too small all around. Sizing up ½ a size gives a snug fit across the forefoot but too much length. Nice shoe otherwise, but unwearable for me. Salomon, one can always tighten the laces a little to get snug fit, but one can't widen the shoe. Either make this several mm wider or offer an 'E' or "wide" width version.

Favorite Salomons so far
Replaced Pulsar Trail with these, have to say they feel like a better shoe in every aspect, also prefer them to the Thundercross.

Decent first impression
Fits to size. Definitely not maximal cushion. Not super clear how the midsole/cushioning is different from the s/lab version. It seems to be the same in terms of specs in the descriptions and from reading other third party reviews, but the s/lab is categorized "maximal" and this model is "moderate" cushioning.

Love these shoes
I bought these shoes and after breaking them in I love this shoes. It will come as no shock but the lace system never disappoints. Keeps the shoes tight while feeling comfortable the whole time. Can’t say enough good things about these shoes.

So far so good!
Tried them a few times and I like. Will see in a few months if they hold up…

Great shoe!
Great grip, nice cushioning - I'd work a bit on some esthetic details but overall 5 stars!

Love for long efforts!
I've ran long, technical efforts in a ton of different Salomon releases. This by far is the best price to quality ratio shoe that I've experienced! Enough cushion for ultra distances, great grip, softer material in the heal cup than some others (blister friendly), and just enough propulsion for a fun ride. Highly recommend and hope these features continue in the Genesis generations to come!

Great shoe, too tight
The shoes are really good looking, they are well constructed but they are a very tight fit. These would be great if they made a wide version
