100% Not Compatible with Dynafit Bindings

I wish that Salomon made this more clear in their description of the crampon system. These bindings are absolutely incompatible with Dynafit bindings, regardless of what you read in review articles. The Dynafit crampon bar is too wide for the MTN bindings and the level of force required to attach the crampons is likely to cause the crampon to fail. Just cut to the chase and buy the proprietary crampon for these bindings. Otherwise this binding has served me well so far.

Dig these bindings.

Solid bindings. Simple design that is easy to use. Unsure if the risers will become floppy with further use.

Love them

Got out 4 times this season and I am really pleased. They're light, fast in transition and so overall simple. I've heard of the riser issue without having this problem yet. I guess simply replacing the rivet by a bolt eventually will fix it

Works great

Got these for my touring setup. Very pleased with the engagement and weight. Only been out on them once so far but looking forward to more vertical on them.

Great but for sloppy riser situation

I have many many tours under my belt with this binding and I love 'em. Great for climbing, great for transitions, great for skiing... except that after some use the top risers are so loose that they just flop around, creating some v. awkward situations. Would love to get a fix for this!! I would recommend with reservation only on this one issue.

Excellent, until the heel riser gets floppy.

I love this binding! However, buyer be aware that the heel riser gets floppy and this causes problems when skinning. I will be on relatively flat terrain and the motion of bringing my foot forward will cause the heel plate to be in the highest setting, it’s a bummer.

Best Tech Binding

I've been using Salomon Tech bindings since they first made it with 100+ days per year, and not one issue yet. They are simple and they just work.

Good- but could be better

Great binding, but after few years of use the heel risers on both binding have broken. On the positive note, they work well on transition, and I never had any issues on the descent. Just their durability could be improved.

Simple, Light... But did not release

Bought these binding for the 2020 season. I love how light and simple they are to use. I have used these in all conditions, deep pow, braker crust, corn, steep icy couloirs. They appear to be pretty durable, except the wing that holds onto the ski crampon broke off. This was the second time that i had used ski crampons with this binding. I charge hard, and they have never pre-released. Then in Jan, while skiing way up in AK, was skiing a big line, hit an old avalanche crown in some bad lighting, lost control, fell and tomahawked. Ski finally releases on the 3rd rotation. Long story short, i have to endure 2 surgeries and have a year or recovery. I will not be skiing these bindings again.

Best touring binding I've used

I've run this binding for two season's now and love it. Light, simple design, easy enough to step in to, never had any problem coming out of them on the downhill - they release. My previous bindings were G3 and they broke twice in the same season - it was a serious hassle working with their customer service department to resolve the issue. Nothing but love for salomons.
