Worth every penny. Very comfortable and high quality. I will buy from here again when needed.

Feels great right out of the box!
Bought these to transition away from trail running shoes for hiking. They felt really good right out of the box. Wore them around town to see if there would be any break in before I used them hiking. There was just a small bit of rub on the top of my toes, but not bad. I usually buy wide width shoes and boots, but the toe box on these has plenty of room.

Great shoes
Amazing in cold hiking or even in snow hiking. Walking in the city too as well. Even for construction worker can wear it.

Wanted to give it a 5 but…
My biggest frustration/disappointment continues to be the rubber moulding on the toe box. This is my 6th pair of Salomon’s but my first review. I used this pair on a 400km trek through Patagonia the past month. Tread held up well but the rubber molding on both toe boxes keeps coming off which has been a consistent problem with my Solomon boots (although for some reason I don’t have the same problem with my Ultra GTXs). I would love if one time I had to replace my Salomon boots because the tread was worn rather than because I could no longer glue the rubber mouldings on the front of the boot. These boots are very stable. I appreciate the lace locks and when secured, the compression gives more rigidity and has saved me quite a few rolled ankles as I was typically carrying 20k (40-45lbs). Had multiple consecutive rain/snow days and the waterproof Gore-Tex was a champ. Synthetic material is very flexible, durable and quick to break in. I also lean towards Salomon given it is a medium volume boot which is great for my narrow feet but there is ample room in the toe boxes for ascents/descents. I always swap out their Ortholite insole for Superfeet but their insole seems to be improved from prior models. I recently bought a pair of La Sportiva Aequilibrium for a hiking and mountaineering trip this past summer and while not as comfortable as my Salomon I was more impressed with the quality of the overall boot for a comparable price. From what was once a Salomon only closet I have now added two pairs of La Sportiva beside my four Salomons!

Comfortable right out of the box
I upgraded my old Quest 2 boots with Quest 4. They are comfortable right out of the box and breaking in nicely. Super durable just like the Quest 2 and give a lot of ankle support

Not Waterproof
I wore these on a pheasant hunting trip. The field was wet one morning after a rain. Within fifteen minutes my boots were completely soaked through. All others in my group had dry feet with other boots on.

Bad news
The laces are held on by plastic. One of which broke after 3 miles. Again, plastic.

Happy Trails
Like the boots--they run larger than normal. I am an 11 1/2 narrow and the medium width is too wide so I put another insole in. I also don't like corded laces because they always come untied, but I can easilly change those out.
