Responsive shoes

I’ve used these for a few trail runs in a mixture of rocky and sandy terrain. They feel super responsive and fit like a glove, the toe box feels a bit bulky to me. I do a bit of scrambling with my trail runs and they felt a bit slippery for the task, oddly enough I feel like the XT-6s perform better at scrambling although they are considered “lifestyle” shoes. True to size when compared to the XT-6s.

So fast!

This shoe feels light on the feet without sacrificing stability or comfort. The cushion could be light for some runners if they are looking to be on there feet for extended time. The colorway options are limited too but Overall a great shoe!

Easily my favorite trail shoes ever

While my day to day training trail shoe is the Speedcross 5, this S-lab Ultra 3 is my go-to for days when I want to go fast, or long. I have about 200 miles on them, and plan to wear them for another 100 before I buy a new pair. They are as comfortable as you could hope for. They are light. They feel fast, almost like a racing shoe. They have an awesome collar around the foot opening that prevents dirt, rocks, snow from getting inside. While not quite as protective, or as grippy, as the Speedcross 5, they have a decent rock plate and good enough protection that I don't need to be too careful about my footing. If I could only have one shoe option, I would probably go with these.

Warning: The soles wear down horrificly fast!

I barely use them - uppers perfect, some lugs at zero. Expected more as I'm serial salomon inc hiking boots.

What I hoped it would be

Had for three weeks, been on a few runs, exactly what I was hoping. Feels very firm, extremely stable. Most technically capable shoe I have ever owned. The sock like sleeve keeps the rocks out, which is nice. Always a fan of the lacing system. Perhaps just a little on the narrow side, but I have wide feet. Great for side hilling, as the heel cup is extremely secure.

Good shoe

Ran an ultra marathon with this shoe. Switch it after I think 35-45 miles . I wish it was waterproof . Good stability . Bad in deep mud but it very deep deep mud.

Size trouble

Hi there, I have been using the trainers regularly. First though I had to get the right size. I am size 9 UK, and 43 EU. When I received the first pair I could not fit 1/3 of my foot into the shoe because of the tight entrance on the top of the shoe, so instead of going for half size bigger I went for a whole one. The size 10 is just ok but it feels long and a little loose now that have used them a few times. Should have gone for 9.5. Unfortunately the only way to find out properly is to use the shoes. I believe the system with no shoe lace is the reason that makes the process of choosing the right size difficult; as you have to struggle to put them on , even using a shoe horn, but then you have to allow for some softening after a few runs.So now I make do with them, but they are not as perfect as they should be especially for the price tag.
