Not For Jogging, For Running
I was waiting somewhat impatiently for these to get released as I LOVE the Ultra Glide 2 but feel like the midsole breaks down after about 175 miles — I'm 205 lbs and run with a lot of force. The S/Lab Ultra François has been super great and seems to have a midsole that outlasts the UG2, but I've been worried they will be discontinued. Thus, my eagerness for the new S/Lab UG. I will start with the fact that these shoes must be run in. Much like an expert ski, the shoes really need energy put into them to work the trail. If you are cruising or hiking, the rebound will bounce you around, and your feet will feel like they are ping-pong balls. As soon as you start driving them, they settle in and are awesome. The balance of responsiveness and cushion is well-designed. They don't feel as "fast" in foot placement as the UG2, but I'm guessing that's because of the plush rebound. I would say the fit is pretty similar to the UG2 more than the François Ultra outside of the sizing. I feel like they are about 1/4 to 1/3 of a size big. I tried on 11, 11.5 and 12. I normally wear a 12 in UG2, and the S/Lab UG felt too loose. I'm glad I settled on the 11.5. There is a little bit of a break-in that opens up the upper and insole to keep in mind when trying them on initially. For additional reference, the François Ultra seems 1/4 to 1/3 smaller than labeled. I want to get them out for a 50K or longer run to see if there are any pressure points or any issues with the spheres on the sole, but so far, 10-15 miles at a time have been pretty good.

Great shoe just needs a few tweaks
Just used this shoe on a 300 mile Adventure race, performed decent but was not a fan of the lacing system. I was unable to ever maintain a good heel lock and had already sized down. The cut out on the front of the shoe when you push off is noticeable at the big toe and just didn’t feel right. Two minor changes that I think would make this shoe amazing.

Super Soft Stride
The shoe has incredible cushion and rebound. I like everything about the shoe except for the tongue. The only reason I didn’t leave five stars is the tongue bunches up behind the toe box.

Going the Distance!
I haven't done a ton of running in these shoes yet, but the running I have done in them has impressed me. It's the kind of shoe within the first 5 miles that I can tell it is going to be my new favorite. I'm excited to take them on my next long run.

Trail Super Shoe of 25'
Salomon is leading the charge in 2025 with the release of this shoe. Compared to other trail super shoes with carbon plates this dual foam provides nearly identical energy return and bounce. Generous lugs and the traditional Salomon rubberized toe cap make this a great addition to the racing quiver. Excited to see how these hold up this season.

Cool Looking Bouncy Fast Trail Shoe
An impressive balance of comfort, stability, and performance. The soft, dynamic cushioning provides a smooth ride, while the unique outsole design helps reduce foot fatigue over extended miles. It handles mixed terrain with ease, offering reliable grip and a stable feel.

Disappointed
I bought this shoe hoping it would become a favorite like my Genesis. This shoe is horrible. My first run it gave me a blister on my left heel and the reinforced stitching at the bottom of the tongue bruised the top of my right foot. I've done 4 more runs in them and the same issues persist. I would not recommend this shoe to anyone, these won't be getting any use from me as they will only cause an injury. Salomon completely missed the mark with these. Do yourself a favor and buy the Genesis.

Comfort for the long run!
A plush, springy, reactive trail experience tailored to the long run! I feel like I could spend all day in these and love the smoothness of these and response from the mid sole. Can we get these in another color?!
