Why We Like The Salomon Sense Ride 5 Trail Running Shoe
Whether we're going for speed or distance, we lace into the Salomon Sense Ride 5 Trail Running Shoe. The breezy upper keeps our feet from overheating, while the ghillie lacing and Sensifit construction give our midfoot a customized hug to keep us comfortably locked over the platform. As we stride, the foam's balanced energy softens our strikes just as much as it powers our toe offs for a plush yet lively ride.

A disappointment as a long time SR and Salomon fan
I had to return the SR5s. I absolutely love the SRs, and have owned so many pairs of 3s and 4s, which feel and fit amazing on the technical trails I run on. I have run an ultra in the old SRs with zero issues. These LOOK nice, but the fit and feel is not good at all. BTW--I find Salomons fit super large on my narrow feet. I wear a size 5 (their size chart says I should be a 7, which is my size in road shoes for other brands). The 5s fit like a glove normally. The toe box was so hard and tight on these (I do have chubby toes, so need some space there for that). I don't think sizing up would even help so I just returned, and am relying on the 4s I still have in my closet. Please please listen to all the feedback and bring back the 4s!

Most comfortable shoes
Since I bought these shoes I have been putting a lot of miles on it that I can easily say that is one of the most comfortable shoes I ever owned

Laces are not for everyone
The lacing system is a cool idea, however, I need to lace my shoes differently because of a giant big toe issue. So I had to cut the lace at the point it is fused to re-lace the shoes, then tie it back together. But a knot will not pass through the rubber keeper. Just a small inconvenience, but something to consider for the next model would be to make the laces so they can be rerouted.

Sense ride 5
I now have two Sense Ride 5 pairs, and one Salomon Sense Ride pair from 3 years ago. I love this shoe.

why change a great shoe? now cramped in front
I've been buying Sense rides for several years, and I agree with other long-time users that these are no longer comfortable. The front is cramped and no adjusting the laces helps because it's too narrow in front. I found myself taking them off even when sitting. Wish I could return.

Great comfortable trail shoe!!!
I bought the woman’s Sense Ride over a year ago. It’s comfortable, durable on the hiking trails, and it’s nice looking! Recently I bought the same shoe as mine are wearing down. I love these shoes!!!

Bring back the old Sense Rides
I've always considered Sense Rides to be 'ole reliable' as it is my favorite trail running shoe, especially the Sense Ride 3's and 4's. But when it comes to the Sense Ride 5, in my experience it is noticeably worse. I purchased these shoes 3 months ago in August, it is now November, and the mesh fabric has already completely given up in both the left and right shoe in the exact location. With the older Sense Rides, I used to wear the shoes down until the lugs were flattened without experiencing compromises such as this. Not to mention the fit of the toe box being uncomfortably small. It's a huge bummer knowing I have to spend that much more money to replace a shoe that never used to require it, let alone the inherent waste that creates.

Don’t like this version
I have been wearing sense rides for several years now with 5 pairs, which I have enjoyed with the exception of one model having uppers that ripped. These are the worse iteration, they have a strange fit , wider (?) and just aren’t as comfortable as the older versions, also they aren’t as grippy in the trails. Please bring back the old 3 and 4 versions or something close and love to see shoes for those of us with a narrower foot!

Great trail running shoe
I used these for my 30km trail race. It held up well and no blisters! I would prefer my cushion in a shoe. But overall, solid shoe and great durability. I will race again with these shoes.
