Why We Like The Salomon Techamphibian 5 Water Shoe
Some of us are like frogs, jumping in and out of the water to pursue our outdoor passions. Salomon built the Techamphibian 5 Water Shoe for our amphibious lifestyle. The closed-toe design and substantial outsoles protect our feet on the trail and river bottom while the synthetic mesh keeps out debris and drains and dries quickly to keep us comfortable in and out of the water. We also like the Quicklace system, which makes it easy to slip in and out of our shoes while cinching up tight for a secure fit as we're hiking waterfalls, wading rivers with our fishing rod, and paddling our SUP or kayak.

Perfect for a summer hike!
Got these to use on a trip to SE Asia. They were perfect for the hikes and very quick drying. Easy to slip into with the heel down when needed, and also feels just like normal hiking Salomon with the heel up. It's sturdier than I expected and provides great support.

Great Shoes
I haven’t used these shoes extensively but they are comfortable and have good grip.

Great water shoe!
I bought it a month ago and am so happy that I did. The shoe itself is comfortable, with a great sole. Works great in the water, its main purpose. Only downside is that it is not for wide feet. I sized up by half and fits well. The lace stitch can compress the head of ur great toe. I had to stuff the shoe for a couple of days to stretch it. No complaints after a 10 mile hike in and out of water.

Nice premium water shoe
I bought the Techamphibians for my morning beach walk, which is three miles of beach and one mile of sidewalk. They are perfect for this purpose because the soles are supportive for walking on the sidewalks, and I can walk in the water without fear of hurricane debris. They work well with socks and perform similarly to walking in my SpeedCross trail runners. There is a useful adjustment strap on the side to adjust the fit depending on how tight you want them to fit.

Pretty Bad
I like so many things about this shoe but the execution includes a fit issue with the front of the shoe/toecap being way too tight - you'll notice this pattern of complaints across the lower star reviews, also. From the ball of the foot forward, the shoe isn't comfortable, and does not allow for enough movement. Trying them on for just a few minutes, I found my feet hurting. Kind of an ugly shoe when viewed from above, also, despite how good it looks from the side. Beyond that, the grip seems great and I believe it would dry quickly, to its' credit. I'd be excited to try this model again down the road with changes made. I'm suspicious of it's durability, but it's also so close to being a perfect portage shoe so know that I don't enjoy leaving this review.

Comfy and Airy
Had these for just over 3 weeks now. Bought them so as I can walk around in something without socks that would let air about my feet, instead of the usual flip flops whilst having something more practical for daily use. I was apprehensive at first as I was getting some rubbing on my wee toe at a seam, but stuck with them for a few days and as they have softened up, they have become nice and comfy. Very happy with them, Ive dropped it a star (would have been half a star but it wont let me) as id say they aren't as airy as i was hoping but still a lot more so than a normal trainer. Im usually a size 9.5 but went with a UK 10, as from experience of another pair of shoes find a half size up is better and feel the same with these..

Excellent Summer Shoes!
I picked up a pair of "water shoes" this summer that I hesitated to purchase in its previous handful of versions. I bought the Saloman Tech Amphibian 5 in a men's 11.5, a half size smaller than my normal size, based on the sizing details and exchanged them for an even smaller 11 after trying them on, with and without socks. They exceeded my expectations in the areas of water entry/exit, foot protection and surface grip. My reason for acquiring them was to use them for crossing streams in the backcountry, but this summer I have found them to be so utilitarian during camping, hiking and everyday life. They are so lightweight and quick to slip on/off that they stayed just outside of the tent within an arm's reach. I recently wore them on a warm, afternoon hike on a local trail known for being rocky and slippery. I loved feeling the breeze flow through the mesh during the hottest section of woods. I was shocked at how stable they felt under foot and I was able to step confidently in otherwise treacherous conditions. I want to remind the readers that they are mesh, water shoes and of course their stability shouldn't be compared to hiking boots or technical, trail running gear. In general, if you're looking for an adventurous shoe that can be useful for a wide range of wet and dry activities, I'd highly recommend that you purchase them and I suggest that you get a full size smaller than the norm, since they are easily loosened at the heel.

Yeah, I love these.
I have wide feet, so in length I should be around a 10, but I always need a 10.5 (45 EU) - read some reviews saying these were a bit too snug, but I chanced my arm and couldn't be happier with the fit. They're a light but solid build that I often wear in the slipper style, with the back tucked down under my heel - this is an excellent design feature for recovery/relax after walking - with the benefit of being able to pull the back up to keep the shoe on in case you need to go some distance. One slight downside is I occasionally get the left cord adjustment finding it's way into the shoe and putting pressure on foot, but I found a way to tuck it in tight to it's buckle and haven't had the problem happen since. The only other caveat would be that these are a much brighter Orange than the photos or the description of "Spice Route/Burnt Henna..." might lead you to believe, but if you're comfortable rocking dayglo orange, you'll be fine. Oh, I also read some saying they found them slippy in wet conditions, but that's not my experience and have always found the soles grippy and solid under foot, though I can imagine if you were bouldering over some slimy rocks, you might want to place your feet more carefully.
