Superb Hiking Shoe
I have been hiking in Los Lionos Canyon for the last fifty years since I was seventeen, and this hiking shoe is fantastic ... the fit and feel of the shoe on the trail ... I know where my foot is, and I can feel the terrain. Going uphill or downhill, there's plenty of grip. The tongue has enough padding, so f you need to lace your shoes tightly to lock them in, you're set. I have a bright red color. Did I mention they are featherweight-light? These hiking shoes are remarkable. Would I get them again... yes, indeed.

Hard ankle digs into my ankle
The Aero Glide 2 and the Ultra Flow both have a rigid ankle that digs into my ankles. On my left foot, left side, on both. I wish they would lower or redesign the rigidity on these models. Because I love the style and almost everything else about them.

Fantastic walking shoes!
I bought these “running” shoes even though I’m not a runner. I love walking and they are perfect for me and super comfortable!

Very comfortable
Very satisfied with these shoes. Purchased about a month ago and have been wearing them primarily for work on Concrete floors (lots of standing and walking) all day, and my feet have been much happier. I tried other high cushion shoes like Hoka's, but these have been MUCH better.

Wish for a wider forefoot.
Seems great; just wish for a wider forefoot. While my old Salomon XA boots had a very comfortable, wider forefoot, all of these running/hiking shoes seem to run narrow. Great for many; not for those who need more room up front.

Nice shoe but runs small for 7.5
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
- Size Bought:
- 7.5 mens
These were nice shoes. I wanted them to work for me but they didn’t not fit properly for me. My feet are short in length, but steep on top. Size 7.5 typically. The length of the shoes fit perfect, but the sides of the shoe did not go high enough, and the tongue was not wide enough. So basically the shoe was “open” on the sides of the tongue even when tied. If they had a wide version that may have worked for me. But unfortunately I had to return these. Return process is easy with Backcountry though.

Perfect comfort and price point
10 km’s per day of walking or light hiking with my Labrador. Light, solid, visually cool and so far holding up. I’ve been wearing nothing but Salomon shoes and hiking boots (4 purchases per year) for the past 5 years. Highly recommend!

Good Shoe
First off I do like the shoes. They are comfortable and like everything Salomon seem to be well built. After using the SpeedCross 6 and other Hiking Shoes and Boots for years, these would be a no brainer to try. Maybe it's just me but the drop definitely feels lower than a 6mm but that could be from the roll up on the back (and coming from the SpeedCross and Boots). I also don't think they are quite as "plush" as they are marketed to be with "maximal cushioning". Not bad cushioning, just not as much as you'd expect. First run was 4.5 miles and the shoe locked down nicely and made no hot spots. Contagrip performed well as expected, almost felt sticky when on pavement. The upper is super breathable, first time in a while I've felt air through a shoe and thin merino socks. Long term durability will attest to the value, but starting out I would expect them to last quite a while. The sole is quite flexible to contour and grip the terrain, but keep that in mind if you are going to run on old railbed, maintained trails or roads. These aren't mud warriors, and they're not road warriors. Just a good all around light trail shoe.

Lots of cushion.
I have been running, hiking and walking with Salomon shoes for a long time and the Ultra Flow will keep me coming back. Very comfortable and lots of cushion. My only issue is that they seem to seem to run slightly big.
