Why We Like The Salomon X Ultra 360 Mid CSWP Boot

We don't have to choose between lightweight hiking boots and supportive hiking boots, thanks to the Salomon X Ultra 360 Mid CSWP Boot. The latest offering in the best-selling X Ultra line, this new mid-cut features lightweight synthetic mesh uppers and Salomon's Advanced Chassis, which adds foot support and ankle stability without slowing us down or weighing us down with a full-length shank. That time-tested technology provides plenty of agility and stability for our day hikes while Salomon's proprietary waterproofing and outsoles provide all-weather performance at a more wallet-friendly price than other hiking boots in the X Ultra Series.

nice and snug

I wear these daily for work boots in HVAC. Mostly doing service/repairs along with some installation. I had the Salomon X Ultra 4 mids before this. These (Ultra 360's) are a bit more boot feeling, the Ultra 4's felt a bit lighter and less bulky. On the positive side though, the Ultra 360's feel more cushioned and are a lot more snug and form-fitting to my feet. My only complaint with these so far are the laces. They come untied numerous times throughout the day. A pretty easy fix...just buy some different laces, but still worth noting.

Love these

Got them for my husband and he loves them. Super lightweight and cushioned at the same time. I got a pair of Oboz and when I compared them on my feet to the Salomon, I knew I had to return the Oboz and get another pair of these. Great shoes.

Great hiking books

I've done about 30 miles on the AT with these boots now and I am a happy camper. They are extremely lightweight for a boot this size and the waterproofing is excellent. The trail was muddy during an unusually warm spell in February. Lots of snowmelt left mud and puddles everywhere and I felt no need to look for higher ground - I just trudged right through. The boot does run wide enough to feel comfortable for me. I usually wear a "wide" shoe or boot and I found that the normal sizing fit my wider toe spread.

There's not a lot of flex in the ball of the foot

There's not a lot of flex in the ball of the foot and it's too tight, even with the laces loose. For the money there are much better options available in other brands.

One hand tightening

I bought these as I needed a new pair of light, waterproof and go anywhere boots.i bought Salomon light, slip on hiking shoes because a reviewer said he could slip them on with hands that have limited use. I was in a car accident and could not tie easily. Bought them and they are fantastic. These new boots can be tightened with a pull. You have to tie them, but that is better now. I have been in snow, water, mud, hills and desert. A nice boot. I ordered a half size up.

Best boot I've ever worn by a long ways!

I've been wearing these for several weeks now. They are hands down the best mid-height boots I've ever put on my feet, better by far than Oboz, Keen or any other brand I've worn. I'll buy another pair.

Serious design flaws

I recently purchased these shoes, but unfortunately, they fell short of my expectations for several reasons. First, the laces provided are too short, making it unnecessarily difficult to tie them securely. Additionally, the plastic hooks intended to hold the laces at the top seemed flimsy right from the start. Unsurprisingly, one of them broke after minimal use. For comparison, my Salomon winter shoes, which I've used for years, have sturdy metal hooks that have held up perfectly over time. May be Salomon trying to save money on hooks?! Another issue is the breathability. These shoes lack proper ventilation, making them far less comfortable during prolonged use. Overall, while the design may have looked promising, the quality and practicality leave much to be desired. I can't recommend these shoes, especially when there are more durable and breathable options on the market.

Excellent!

This is a well balanced shoe for light, outdoor work. I'm on roofs, in crawl spaces, and in attics and this shoe is perfect for what I do. The grip is excellent and the ankle support is a game changer when walking steep pitches. They stay cool and they're light weight. This is my second pair and I will be trying a few others from the tactical collection.
