Not impressed
After my last pair of Salomon Xa Pro 3D V8, which I was very pleased with, I wanted to try these. I am not impressed with these at all. These are the noisiest pair of shoes I’ve ever had. The material squeaks terribly as you walk, they fit poorly, and they do not breathe well at all. I’m probably going to look at other options for my next pair of hiking shoes.

Super light, great walking and hiking shoes
This was the only pair of slides I traveled overseas with. Great mountain hiking shoe but not so large that you couldn't wear them to dinner.

Love these boots!
I climb Camelback Mountain in Phoenix, Arizona every day. It's 5-miles, 2,400' of granite boulders with no soft places, no dirt, only sharp-edged rocks to tear up your boots. The mountain has torn up many lesser shoes and shredded all competitors. I've hiked with XA Pro 3D for ten years and recently switched to the Ultra 360 (same shoe, better padding). Everyone I've recommended them to has stuck with them. Nothing comes close! I highly recommend these for tough terrain. (They'll probably do great at easy terrain too, but I don't go there.)

High quality shoe.
Definitely a high quality feeling shoe. Initially it feels a little loose on my foot, but I feel like it’s growing into it.

Sizes differently than X Ultra 4
I tried on a size 13 X Ultra 4 at a local store and they fit well (I normally where a size 13). The store only had black so I checked online and liked the look of the herb/olive 360s. Ordered the size 13 and they were too small. Ordered a size 14 and they were too large. I then ordered the size 13 X Ultra 4 in kelp/earth and they fit perfectly. I preferred the look of the 360s but comfort trumps looks.

The Quicklace system is NOT GOOD
The recent Quicklace lacing system is poor choice and unfortunately destroys both shoes pretty quick in normal wear. I have already wasted a few pairs of Salomon shoes because of it. The thin synthetic lace string on the top front(above the tows) of the shoe simply rubs off the fabric under it. It creates a long abrasion which soon becomes a hole and thus slices the fabric like a saw. These two materials do not do well one onto of the other. Please change it or offer the shoe with normal or redesigned show laces! Thank you.

Not like they used to be
I have been wearing my X-Ultra 3 for years, into tattered threads and cannot find a replacement. I found the X-Ultra 4 not cushy enough, and the XA Pro 3D V9 too loose. These are not terrible on cushioning, but they don’t breathe at all on hot days and my foot kept sliding forward downhill. Won’t be keeping them.

Great tread, comfortable sole.
I’ve been wearing these for about a month now. I originally intended to wear them only a few days a week, but I very quickly have found myself wearing them daily. I love the breathable fabric and good, solid tread. Great for the trail and stylish enough for the office. My only complaint is unless I really pull the laces tight, they feel slightly loose on my heels.

Bring back x ultra 3
I have always loved salomon shoes. But everyone is saying the same thing. And they are right. The x ultra 3 was the perfect hiking shoe. Bring back that exact shoe. And advertise it. EVERYONE WILL BUY IT!

Good walking shoe
Comfortable, lightweight yet stable, burly outsole. They are my go-to dog walking shoes, and will be great travel shoes as well.
