Why We Like The Santa Cruz Blur Trail C S Mountain Bike
When we are looking for a bike with trail capability and cross-country finesse and speed, the Santa Cruz Blur Trail C S Mountain Bike is our one-stop shop. Cross-country race bike at heart, but upgraded with 15 millimeters more travel in the rear and 20 on the fork, the Blur Trail blurs the lines between a cross-country bike and a trail bike. With a chassis nearly as light as the cross-country Blur but way more capable, the Blur trail is a prime choice for when you still want to be able to fly but are riding on more aggressive terrain. With a 67.1-degree head tube angle, we are in a much better position to point the wheels downhill and over chunky terrain than any other XC bike. Size-specific chainstays and seat tube angles position every sized rider in the perfect position for an efficient pedaling position and a perfectly balanced and poppy ride. Santa Cruz implemented their new Superlight suspension platform specifically for the Blur, reducing overall weight and making for a more energy-efficient design over their previous VPP suspension platform. With a more linear leverage curve and lower anti-squat values, Superlight gives us a suspension platform that climbs and descends more efficiently and reduces the number of moving parts for a lighter weight and more reliable suspension platform. Integrated downtube and chainstay protectors keep our bike safe from chain slaps and rock strikes, and internal cable routing makes for a clean-looking, silent ride.
The S build of the Santa Cruz Blur Trail is equipped with quality components that offer incredible value. SRAM's GX Eagle drivetrain provides reliable components and a huge gear range. A Fox Performance 34 Step-Cast fork with 120mm of travel helps to save weight and maintains traction with the dirt, inspiring confidence in high-speed situations. RaceFace AR Offset 27 rims and DT Swiss 370 hubs pair together to make a shred-worthy wheelset that is both reliable and strong. A Fox Transfer Performance SL dropper post is lightweight and has super smooth actuation, making for effortless changes in saddle height. Maxxis Rekon Race tires keep the rolling resistance down and are lightweight without sacrificing the grip we need. Finally, the new SRAM Level TL brakes supply all the stopping power we need without the added weight of bigger pot brakes
*Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech specs updated, and any adjustments will be of equal or better spec level.
