Why We Like The Santa Cruz Megatower CC XX Eagle Transmission Reserve Mountain Bike
From racing to casual weekend rides and maybe even some bike park use, the Santa Cruz Megatower is one of our favorite enduro bikes out there. Featuring 165mm of VPP suspension, it doesn't matter whether we are stomping down the steepest of descents or climbing or way back up; we can do it all. The Megatower is an enduro race bike at heart, featuring dual 29-inch wheels, and a composed suspension system that climbs and descends efficiently. New editions on the Megatower include size-specific chainstays to ensure a balanced and stable platform for all frame sizes, and a new steeper seat tube angle, averaging 77.5 degrees, puts us in the perfect position to climb back to the top of the trail. The Megatower has a slack 63.8-degree head tube angle that keeps us centered when bombing down steep trails and keeps our front wheel out ahead of us to help keep us from feeling like we are going to go over the bars. A Glovebox frame storage allows us to keep all our ride essentials in the downtube of the frame and integrated downtube and chainstay protectors keep our frame protected from rocks and chain slap. Additional features on the Megatower include a Shuttle guard and an integrated rear shock fender
The Carbon CC XX Eagle Transmission Reserve build of the Santa Cruz Megatower leaves nothing behind, outfitting us with top-tier components for elite performance on the trail. The Carbon CC frame is built to the highest standards and is made with premium materials to give us a reliable, stiff, lightweight frame. SRAM’s XX Eagle Transmission AXS electronic shifting equips us with the latest shifting technology on the market today, featuring precise electronic shifting, a durable design, and a huge gear range. Reserve's 30|HD carbon rims and I9' Hydra hubs rocket this build into a race-worthy dream bike, giving us incredible engagement and a stiff and snappy handling wheelset. But we can't forget about the Fox Float X2 Factory rear shock, which provides great small bump sensitivity and keeps our back end locked down on the most technical of descents. A RockShox Zeb Ultimate, 170mm fork, handles the big hits in the front and has tons of adjustments so we can tune in to our riding style. Finally, Maxxis Assegai and DHRII tires supply loads of traction and bite on the rowdiest of descents, giving us the grip we need for high-level riding.
*Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech specs updated, and any adjustments will be of equal or better spec level.
