Why We Like The Saris Door County 2 Bike Hitch Rack
The Saris Door County 2 Bike Hitch Rack is all about convenience, combining bike hauling and valet service, so we can spend more time enjoying the ride. With the turn of a key and the press of a button, the electronic feature lifts and lowers our e-bike, taking the load off our back and sweat off our brow, while the e-bike-friendly lobster claw arm delivers a secure hold without scratching the frame's paint, touching the fender, or interfering with the battery mount. Plus, the rack sports taillights and signals for added safety on the road.

Best Bike Rack Ever!
So easy to use and makes putting any type of bike easy on your car. I’ve never seen anything like it specially helpful for those that don’t have the strength to pick up their bikes or lift heavy electric bikes. The straps are very secure too!

How to hook it into the fuse panel?
I love the bike rack but the car dealer will void my new car warranty if it isn’t cooked up properly. They would like to hook it in the fuse panel but they can’t figure out how to! Do anyone know how its done?

Best Bike Rack that I have ever owned!!!
I have had this Saris Door County Bike Rack for about 2 years. It is the best built and user friendly rack that I have had. It lowers to the ground and I can just push our Electric Gazelle bikes on, secure them and then it raises to a transport position. NO Lifting!! We have been all over the State of Ohio and we love this Bike Rack. A Huge Safety plus is the taillights on the rack for safety in all kinds of traffic. We have an expensive weather cover for our bikes which blocks our taillights on the vehicle, but these are visible and brighter than the vehicles rear lights. Customer Service is great, with whoever I talked to.. with same day contact with email for service or advice...AnneMarie is great. I highly recommend this company and their products!!!

Great Rack when Working
I bought the rack in early September. Used it 4 times and the electrical components became an issue. First, the rack continued to beep, even when it was completely in the up and locked position. Next, the rack became stuck in the down position and the buttons would not allow for a pause or change to go up. I have taken it to a Saris warranty dealer and hope it can be repaired or replaced. I still think this is an excellent rack for our e-bikes and will continue to use it, once repaired/replaced.

Solves your lifting issues; BUT
This rack helps my wife and I ( both over 62 yrs old) hit the road with our Lectric E-bikes. Issues: 1. Electric bikes need to be covered if in inclement weather. Saris voids your warranty if you use a cover while driving highways. We don’t just travel on sunny days. 2. Most E-Bikes weigh more than 65 lbs and the rack limit is 65/bike 130lb total. We have to take battery and seatpost off to use this rack 3. It would be nice if the outside wheel strap fasteners were on the outside of the wheels. It’s difficult to get the straps into fasteners squeezed between two bikes. We still plan to use and enjoy. Sure be nice if theses issues get addressed down the road. Love the lights, and elevator.

Easy to use, but need foot on brake to raise
We recently purchased this for two bicycles. Just at the reviewer mentioned on the Ford, we have a Lincoln and we have the same safety feature where you must have your foot on the break to lower or raise the rack. There are two of us, so it works - but wish that wasn’t required. It is easy to get the bicycles safely and tightly tied-in - it is also easy to install. We did have to buy a 7 pin extender for our Sprinter van.

Great rack Second year and 5000 miles no problems
I’ve had the bike for over a year and traveled 5000 miles and no problems except coming through Dallas this year and a ice storm. The rack held an additional 50 pounds of ice that I had to knock off 50 lbs of ice with a hammer but the rack still works fine. I have had many admirers from my group ride partners. I haul it on a Subaru outback and I had to put a 4 inch riser on my hitch, so it would not drag when going over curbs or speed bumps. I have had trouble with the seven pin wiring on my Subaru, but it is not been Saris’ fault.

No electric at hitch
Love concept, however don't have electric at hitch and would cost over 400. to upgrade to electric.

Great rack
I had 2 problems: 1. Had to install a 7 pin plug 2. Put it on a Subaru Outback and had to get a 4” riser on hitch to prevent grounding Other than that love the rack! Carrier our 2 62lb ebikes with ease. The bike locks are very secure even the locking pin to keep the whole rack being stolen

Are the lobster claw stabilizers compatible with step-thourgh bikes (Aventon Pace 500.3, for example)? From the pictures it appears that the claw is oriented to grab a cross (horizontal) bar, but not necessarily a vertical component of the frame.

I'd like to be able to mount/dismount the rack to my vehicle without lifting the rack off the ground. What is the maximum height of the vehicle hitch mount for this to be possible?
