Why We Like The Maestrale Alpine Touring Boot
The Maestrale Alpine Touring Boot fits into the Scarpa line as a rational option for the vast majority of backcountry skiers thanks to its balanced construction. On the one hand, it features a 110 flex and an adjustable lean angle to help us dial in the downhill performance that the Maestrale line is known for. On the other hand, the user-friendly walk mode and comfort-oriented 101mm last supply us with uphill performance for lengthy ski touring routes in technical terrain.

Great AT boot!!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Took this boot out for a few big days of touring so far. Super light and flexible. The tongue/shell flaps can be a little difficult to align properly and the buckles are tight. I have normal size calves and can barely get them to close on the loosest setting. Other than that great lightweight boot!

Substantial Updated Model

I purchased these about 1 month ago and being a long time Scarpa Maestrale user these are a substantial upgrade from the previous models of which I have had two. Improved range of motion for uphilling as well as a solid progressive flex for downhill. For my size, 155lbs, the flex of 110 seems to be perfect and driving a big ski should be no problem for these. My only negative comment goes for Scarpa in general these days, hard to remove the liners to dry and then very hard re-inserting them. My older Maestrale's with the clamshell type side opening were much easier to deal with, otherwise very satisfied and a great price from Backcountry!

Love the boot, but the stock Intuition liner packed out after ten ski days to the point I have to crank down the instep strap and calf cuff to extreme positions, to keep from uncomfortable foot twist (which greatly irritates my knee). Dissapointing.

Bomb proof A/T boot

Once again, Scarpa does not disappoint. Solid boot, great range of motion while in walking mode, vibram soles grip like they should. Support like you would expect for any ski environment. True to size.
