Why We Like The Scarpa Rush Mid 2 GTX Hiking Boot
Balancing stability with agility, the Scarpa Rush Mid 2 GTX is a lightweight hiking boot that lets us tear up the trail. The sturdy soles and mid-cut ankle collars give us the support of a hiking boot while the lightweight build is reminiscent of a trail running shoe when we pick up the pace. As always, Scarpa delivers bomber traction with their Presa outsoles, and the GORE-TEX Invisible Fit lining provides waterproof and breathable protection without a traditional waterproof bootie.

Toe box is just a little too small

I absolutely love everything about this pair except one super important area: the toe box. I normally wear a 12.5 but “sized up” to a 13 (47) per suggestions. The right move - but maybe I need wide? The rest of the fit is great … just the toe box is more narrow than I’d like. Toes crossed for the 100 miles ahead.

One of the best lightweight hiking boots

If you want a lightweight hiking boot that still has some backbone, the Scarpa Rush 2 is a standout. This is the rare lightweight that can hold up to harder hikes, and I really like the traction on rockier trails. This is the lightest boot in the Rush series, and it's one of my two go-to recs for hikers looking for a legit lightweight hiking boot. Most U.S. hikers probably should size up one full size from their everyday shoes for the best fit.

Great fit, and little break in

Rush Mid 2 GTX fits better and is made of better material than its predecessor. Throw out the stock foot beds and use superset. It runs small. I am a true 10.5 in most shoes and size 11 in Brooks running shoes. Got a 45 which fits well with good toe room.
