Great bag, tested in 15F degrees
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- Female Long
I tested my Ascent bag which is rated down to 15F degrees for comfort. At the coldest point of the night, one thermometer said it was 16F, another said 13F, and I was quite adequately warm. I had no tent, was out in the open on a very windy night. I had good insulation under me. I had plenty of warm sleeping clothes on including a warm hat but no gloves. When the wind blew hard I could tell I had not cinched tightly enough around my head, but after adjusting, no wind came in. The clips for adjusting the cinching are very small and rather hard to work in the dark--the only negative. One set of cinches adjust around the face, the other around the neck, and they adjust separately. The extra draft baffles around the forehead and neck were nice. I felt no cold spots though obviously a bit cooler around both zippers, but the draft flaps on the 2 zippers worked well. My feet were quite warm and happy all night. I am a 5'9" male over 60 years old, veteran camper, but I was testing a Female Long. The length was good on me, just right, no extra room at the bottom.

It's perfect!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I adore this sleeping bag. I have taken it on one practice trip before a long backpacking trip, and I was very comfortable in about 50 without lots of layers. I love that you can stick your arms and feet out, or even start your morning as a little coffee-drinking caterpillar if it's dry outside. Unfortunately, it poured on our first camping trip, and the bag got a little damp (heartbreak!), but it dried very quickly when I laid it out. No problems so far!

Very comfortable
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a lovely sleeping bag. My only caveat is as I am 5’6” it just fits. I wish I had ordered the long

OBSESSED
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The way I am 100% obsessed with this sleeping bag. As a camper, I need a durable good quality one, that will keep me warm but also allow me freedom to move. This has snaps at the top so you can keep your chest warm but your arms free and a zippered bottom so you can open up for your feet’s freedom but also have the ability to tuck your feet in and leave it unzipped. Used this for camping at a music festival with wind gusts up to 40mph. I was cozy all night!

SPEND THE MONEY!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hands down the absolute best sleeping bag on the market. The women’s one is slightly warmer and more filled than the men’s one. Where my girlfriend sleeps colder than me, it’s absolutely perfect. The women’s and men’s ascent zip together for couples, it packs down to the perfect size to fit into my osprey atmos ag 50 sleeping bag compartment. I’ve used it down to 25 degrees and it is very comfortable. Keeps you very warm Packs down zippers work better than any bag I’ve ever used Sides and bottom unzip so you can use your arms and legs outside of the bag

Cozy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a super comfortable bag! Normally, I’m incredibly uncomfortable with a sleeping pad and bag, but the Ascent bag was so cozy! Kept me warm through the night, and the zip downs on the side were great for preventing overheating. It’s a bag that feels nice to slip into after a long day of hiking, and at around one pound, didn’t add to much to my pack. I’m excited to keep using this for the season.

Comfy and warm
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I Love the shape of this sleeping bag and that it’s made for a female body and stature. Can’t wait to take it fall camping , and am excited to break it out this summer. It’s compact and easy to bring along on the road.

Green with Backpacking Envy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am so excited to have received this sleeping bag! I plan on using it for our upcoming Yosemite trip. The color has two variations of green, which looks great and very eye catching. The durability of this sleeping bag is amazing and I know it will last multiple backpacking trips. The bag it comes in has two handles, making it easy to attach to my backpack using a carabiner at the top. It's super light, and I can roll it even tighter if needed, which is a huge plus for longer hikes. I was able to test it out in my living room and it has just enough space to not feel claustrophobic but keep me warm. The amount of down filling is impressive and I’m looking forward to a comfortable night's sleep after a long day of backpacking Yosemite!

Really incredible sleeping bag
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am in love with this Sea to Summit sleeping bag. It’s the Ascent Women’s Down bag. The color is pretty and I like the aesthetic. It’s super portable. The bag is easy to carry. It can pack down small and is super light. I like all the zipper features. It’s cool that you can zip up but still leave your legs and arms sticking out. It’s very warm inside. The hood is nice as well. The size is perfect for me. Overall this bag is great and I would recommend.

Compact, warm and well made- extremely durable construction
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a free Ascent Women’s down sleeping bag by seatosummit in exchange for my honest review. This sleeping bag is extremely well made. The material is so soft and the weight is light as well for backpacking. This is rated to keep you warm in as low as 15 degrees Fahrenheit. The weather near me was not that cold but it is very warm and comfortable. The design is well thought out and I especially like how the head area curves in and can be tightened to keep out the cold. This sleeping bag is the regular size and is large enough for a woman that is 5’7’’. With that being said, I am 5’10 and I weigh 175lbs. Although I am past the recommended height restriction, I was still able to fit in this sleeping bag. My toes were right up against the bottom but it wasn’t uncomfortable. I assume that the long would be even more comfortable for my body type. The color is nice and reminds me of an avocado- dark green on the outside and light green on the inside. There is also a well thought out pocket on the inside for small items such as a phone or keys. For such a warm sleeping bag, I am super impressed with how small it can be folded into. This would be a fantastic addition for any serious hikers/campers who are looking to stay warm after a long day of hiking.
