Why We Like The Sea to Summit Evac Dry Bag

Why risk our down puffy jacket or sleeping bag when we can safely pack them in Sea to Summit's waterproof Evac Dry Bag. Fully waterproof and seam-sealed, it features an air-permeable eVent base, which allows us to seal the bag and squeeze out air for better packability. With a 10,000mm waterproof rating, it's not meant to be submerged, but it's suitable for paddle sports and works best as a dry storage sack that we stuff into our duffle or backpack to keep our gear dry.

Oval bottoms for kayak loading efficiency

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased several of these bags in preparation for a wilderness kayaking trip next summer because they have oval bottoms. This allows the bags to stack, making more efficient use of sea kayak compartments below deck. I’ve used SeaToSummit dry bags in the past, which lasted several years of 12 months/yr paddling before needing to be replaced, so expect them to serve well. (In my present location, I plan to wait for ice free water to test them. )

Packs well

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got the 13 litre and it packed my clothes very well on a recent trip. So cool you can squeeze out the air to reduce volume. The shape makes fit it backpacks or luggage better than tubular/circular sacks.

The dry bag ROCKS!!

I used this dry bag all the time for 12 day trips that I lead in the Adirondack Mountains. It rained for 10 of the days on.my last trip and every thing I had was soaked... except the one set of clean clothes I had in this dry bag. I highly recommend this product especially of your looking to conserve space and weight. Also, the permeable bottom makes it sooooo easy to roll tight!

Great size and stays dry

I use the 8 L bag for my books and journal on canoeing trips and it is the perfect size for that for me and my paper always stays dry and I trust them.

Must have for any adventure

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was lucky enough to be chosen to test out a 8 Litter Vac Dry Bag. I took it out on my 3 week multi sport adventure in the four corners area. For my 1st test I took it out on a 6 day solo backpacking trip in the Needles District of Canyonlands National Park. In the beginning of the trip it was used for clothes. I loved how when you rolled it up the air went out of the bottom. It stayed compressed just long enough to put in my pack along with my old stuff sacks for nice secure fit. I then used it on a 4 day river trip just 2 days after coming out of Canyonlands. I again used it for clothes to start out the trip. On day 2 I decided to test the waterproof of the bag. I attached the bag to the boat so it would get wet but not submerged. I put one of my sun shirts in there to see if any wet spots happened. It took a nice pounding for about 4 hrs without any wet spots on my shirt. Even used it as a day bag with the shoulder sling for a little hike off camp. Even held some wet gear in the bag without getting my other gear wet. Overall I'm very impressed with the Evac Dry Bag. I own several other Sea to Summit bags and after seeing how this bag held up, I considering these as a replacement.

versatile and lightweight

I’ve been using the 8L Evac Dry Bag on spring hikes and snowshoes to keep my extra layers dry and protected inside my pack. While it’s larger than I need for this purpose, it’s a versatile size because it can also fit either my 30-degree or 10-degree bag for multi-day trips, and it's super lightweight. It’s not a compression bag, but the eVent design allows you to squeeze out the air after packing to take up less volume. The fact that it's waterproof gives it an edge over my water-resistant Ultra-Sil Compression Sack, and I'll probably switch to the Evac on most trips. The 8L Evac bag will compress my sleeping bag to a similar volume as my small (10L?) Ultra-Sil Compression Sack, but it must be constrained to prevent it from reinflating. Weight for these two bags is essentially the same. I can’t speak to its durability yet, but I’ll update my review after it’s gotten more use. Also should mention that I love the bright blue color!

Durable and keeps my stuff dry!

I have used a lot of dry bags and some have not lasted long and the seams are not fully waterproof but this dry bag is great! I use it to keep books and the items dry while canoeing.
