Why We Like The XC3 Wide Mountain Bike Shoe
The high-energy and high-speed demands of cross-country racing require purpose-built equipment that carries no extra fluff, and the low-profile, single Boa design of the Shimano XC3 Wide Mountain Bike Shoe is the tool of the trade. Starting with an integrated upper and midsole that sees synthetic leather wrapping around your feet with superior fit and comfort, the XC3 sets a no-frills image of performance-first design. The stand-alone Boa L6 dial cinches down the upper to precision comfort on your trail riding or race-pace interval sessions. With a low stack height, the XC3 reduces energy loss while pedaling, and the fiberglass-reinforced nylon sole transfers watts into the pedals to keep you in the hunt for the win. And rubber tread grips well should you need to put a foot down, sending it deep into a tight apex. This wide last version provides more room in the last for greater comfort and better overall fit for some riders.

Demensano cycling shoes wide forties are what fit me perfectly as a woman with a white foot. Thi Is the second pair I have purchased, the first pair are still being used for spin. The first pair were used over 5 years and thousands of miles, not including spin. Highly recommend

Fits well, happy biker.

Bought the XC3 wide, used about three rides and fits well. More room in the toe box. The single BOA is not a problem. Yes, what others here have said might be true for them, but you have to try them on a ride. These, for the price, fit and comfort are better then what I had and no more toe ace at rides end.

Looks like a great show but toe box even narrower than my also size 46 Garneau's. Putting that 46 normal and Shimano's 46 "wide" it's not wider a mill! Shimanoales their shoes way too narrow and roebpxes way too small - got burned time and again.

The crocs of cycling shoes. I got these because my high end Bontrager shoes with full carbon soles were feeling too tight and causing my feet to fall asleep. To my surprise they were 100 grams lighter per pair than shoes that cost $100 more. I don?t understand that. Plus the bottom has way more rubber for grip. So far the only negative is the laces are run through cloth instead of a plastic guide which makes it a little harder to get them tight. And the boa can go tighter one click at a time but not looser one click at a time. But that?s just nitpicking. My size 43s were 300grams each. Usually I ride a size 42.5 but in these I had to order a 43.

shoes not wide enough...also, shoe tighening mechanism could easily be caught on brush along a narrow trail

one big weakness

The boa tensioning cable is routed through webbing instead of plastic routing guides (plastic guides have much less friction). This makes it VERY difficult to get the shoe tight enough. Wish I would of been aware of this before I purchased. Other than that, it seems to be a good shoe.

Great shoe! Extremely comfortable. When I ordered, I was hesitant due to size for wide foot however, it was a perfect fit.
