Why We Like The T-Ratchet + Ti-Torque Kit
By now, most of us either have a torque wrench handy in the garage or just take our bike to our favorite mechanic to avoid the expensive fallout of over-clamping on carbon and titanium bits. All that careful attention can be undone in an instant though with an unfortunately timed pothole that leaves you adjusting your saddle and guessing on torque. That is, unless you have Silca's T-Ratchet + Ti-Torque Kit tucked into your pack or jersey pocket. Comprised of a bundle of hex and torx heads to match nearly any bolt, this kit utilizes a T-ratchet for leverage and incorporates a Ti-torque extender that lets you know exactly where you stand on torque. It won't click like a pre-set torque wrench, but it's clear markings make it easy to dial in at 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or 8nm of torque.

Really nice, but needs to be updated
I have had two of these the first one the ratchet failed and a friend of mine got me a new one for my birthday. He used it for both bike packing and reassembling bikes after a trip on the airplane, and a light or use around the garage on the bike maintenance although I do use a Park tool torque wrench for bigger jobs. The second one I got the ratchet also failed at this time. I contacted customer support with Silca and they sent me a new one right away, which looks to be slightly different than the previous model, but it hasn’t failed yet. The new one also had an updated torque wrench that had larger numbers and a larger barrel for easier reading because the original was really difficult to see The second problem I have is the magnets are kind of weak and at one point it fell apart while I was reaching to tighten a stem and actually chipped my paint due to the fairly heavy pieces that make up the extensions. I really like the fit and finish and the bit seem really be nice quality haven’t had any issues with it stripping any heads of the bolts. My big problem is the weak magnets which are very problematic and keeping the longer pieces together. The bag is also really well built and but a little on the heavy side I would like to see that made of a lighter fabric. I have really mixed feelings about this cause it’s such a pretty little tool but for the price I do think that there’s probably better options for the price. This one is staying in my toolbox, but most likely I probably won’t take it with me on any more trips. I picked up a Topeak torque stick with a couple bit extensions that I’m gonna stick in my bike box for future use..

The Tool of Tools
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
This is now the most revered tool in my box. It is the handiest, snappiest torque wrench in the history of torque wrenches. Get it immediately and have piece of mind your bolts are correctly cinched.

Faulty Ratchet
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
The ratchet that came with this product failed the first time I used it. Tightening some bolts to 5Nm the ratchet locked up and then started slipping completely. I contacted Silca and they sent a replacement. This ratchet also failed after a couple uses and again I contacted Silca for a replacement hoping that maybe my luck was really that bad. The third ratchet has no failed yet, but also does not function smoothly. At this point I don't trust the tool at all, and will not take it with me on bikepacking trips. I have replaced the ratchet with a fix-it-stick, modular t-wrench. Very disappointed in my first Silca purchase.

Was excited, but disappointed
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I was excited to get this because I really like the fit, finish and versatility of this torque wrench. It is very well made and offers many options for working on my bikes. However, the internal mechanism (ratchet pawls) that catch the ratchet are faulty. There are a few that don’t catch completely causing the mechanism to skip when applying pressure. For this price I would think it would have much better quality control, especially with the internal mechanism, which is so important. I am sadly returning it.

Works perfectly!
The bits are machined very well and sit snuggly in their respective holders when using the tools. It's a little bit bulkier than other similar products, but it's much nicer. I find myself using it at home quite often.

Could use some improvements
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Its good but the handle does not stay inside so it drops all the time when you use it. For this money you would expect it to work perfect.
