Why We Like The Dry Creek Rolltop Backpack
It's not uncommon to load a drybag into our canoe when we head out to fish, but hauling one around when we're hiking to our launch point is no comfortable feat. Thankfully, Simms' Dry Creek Rolltop Backpack takes protective drybag tech and converts into an easy-transport backpack, keeping our equipment safe while we head out angling. The roll-top closure offers easy access to the gear inside and seals tight to keep droplets away from our belongings. Padded straps and a removable hip belt maximize comfort and security while we hike.

Fantastic pack! The only issue I see is size options. Maybe another size bigger.

Poor strap design
It broke on Day1. The straps are glued, not stitched to the bag. I literally picked it up off the ground and the entire strap ripped off while I was at the airport waiting to leave on my fishing trip! It was the first day I used this backpack. My dad had the exact same thing happen in the first week he used it! A guide on our fishing trip also had the same back with a broken strap in the same place! The bag would be awesome if the straps stayed attached! I love the rollmop feature and the size of the bag!

Open seam and broken shoulder strap
I couldn't be more disappointed by this bag. When I received the bag one of the seams was not glued, instead of paying to send the BRAND NEW bag in I chose to fix it myself. The fix worked and sealed the bag but about a month later the shoulder strap started to rip off and its unfixable. In theory this is a great bag, water bottle holder, external storage, and even a little back padding, but in reality this pack has some seriously major manufacturing flaws.

Main Strap detached on day 1
I had high hopes for this backpack as the medium size and weight were perfect for how I like to fish. Unfortunately the main shoulder strap detached from the pack on my first day of travel. I hadn’t used the backpack so not sure if this was a one off defect. This occurred at the beginning of a week long remote trip to Alaska so I had to find a way to reattach the strap with stitching. Bummer.

Seems exactly as advertised. I bought it for my self bailing raft as the floor is often wet.

Availability?
Times up. Was really looking forward to this product being available, but the wait has been in excess of a couple months. I will look elsewhere for my dry bag needs.
