Good but, no cigar
This could have been the perfect best but, needs another 2-3 external pockets and at least one internal. A great shame because otherwise it ticks all the boxes….

Not quite
I am a Simms fanboy and had high hopes for this vest. The back array of pockets is excellent and exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately, the front pockets turned out to be a disapointment. Previous Simms vests I've owned had clever pocket arrays, but here I had to place multiple items in the few pockets available. On the river, I had valuable items spilling into the river never to be seen again. Hoping Simms will go back and rethink this potentially excellent product.

Adequate but not perfect
I am a Simms fanboy and had high hopes for this vest. The back compartments are excellent, but unfortunately, the front pockets are too basic and not functional. I was forced to stuff multiple items into single pockets that made it awkward to use on the river. The end result was valuable items spilling unexpectedly into a fast flowing river and lost forever.

Great Idea No Quite Fully Executed
I normally use a waist pack and don’t want to be wrapped in a heavy vest. A lot of my fishing is in the eastern mountains and requires some hiking. I purchased the vest AND the similar vest pack. I like the overall design and fit very much. I also like the options for managing a net. I’m disappointed in the details. The trim around the rear closure, the black tape, is starting to peel up. The elastic strings on both sides are awkward and in the way. I’m tempted to cut them off. I like to slip my tippet into an accessible pocket, but neither outer pocket is wide enough. There was a missed opportunity for elastic outer pockets on the lower pockets in the front. It would also benefit from a few loops sewn into the seams along front center for attaching tools or other things. I like the concept. It’s pretty fair. The quality and design elements fall a little short.

Almost nailed it
The back of this vest is absolutely perfect. A place for your net, plenty of water, a raincoat, your lunch. What happened with the front? It was 4:30 and everyone was ready to go home? Just throw a couple pockets on it and let’s go? Simms almost hit a home run with this one. A couple d-rings and an inside pocket away from being the perfect vest.
