Why We Like The Flyweight Wading Boot
Designed to not only keep comfortable in the river, but also maintain comfort on the hike to and from, the Simms Flyweight Wading Boot is the boot we need for venturing far and wide to find the perfect spot. From the lightweight, synthetic upper to the Vibram Idrogrip outsole, this boot is fully featured for wading and hiking. The outsole is stud-compatible in case we want to customize traction options, but grips rocks and trails on its own as well. Underfoot, a dual-density EVA midsole provides cushion to reduce fatigue stride after stride.

Great boot, moderate durability.
The best boot for when you do a lot of hiking and need to be nimble. Unfortunately, the fabric lace eyelets rip out. Professionals will shred these in a year or two of service. I like them enough that I just plan on buying new ones every year or so.

Sturdy Boot with Great Traction
I spend more time on foot than in the boat so I was after a boot that would be durable and sturdy across land as much as in the water. The M's Flyweight are performing well in this regard. The sole is remarkably "sticky" so far and inspires a lot of confidence in stability. I can't imagine what they'd be like with cleats! They are a boot so they do have a bit of heft to them, but relative to other boots I have used these are pretty light.

Poor durability
For 2 seasons I really loved these boots. Lightweight, great grip w/studs & great for hiking - most places I fish require a good 2 mi+ hike (~ 50 days/yr). But then they started falling apart, eyelets broke, soles are very worn down, had to glue the sole back on in spots, etc. The durability on these boots are not that great at all for the price.

Hike in, hike out!
My daily driver especially for longer hike in tailwater fishing. I've gotten a LOT of use out of my first pair and am getting ready to re-order. Would benefit from a slightly more durable lace and eyelet combination. That's what I wore out first. Good general grip. I wet wade in these w/ just rock guards and winter fish in them as well. Bought 1 size above my standard shoe size for use with Simms 4 mil neoprene guide pant.

The wading boot is light, yet durable. Very comfortable. My favorite wading boot hands down. I wear them about 300 days a year.

Nice lightweight rubber-soled boot
Well made and appear as advertised. Listen to the people at Simms and size up! I wear a 10.5-11 in street shoes and hiking boots, and the size 12 Flyweights fit right with heavy socks and a neoprene-footer wader. We’ll see how durable the fabric lace loops hold up- I’ll tie an overhand knot before proceeding to the ankle lace hooks. The metal loops for the gravel guard hooks are pretty far forward, so takes a bit of stretching to clip them on. Anxious to try these without studs before deciding if adding metal is necessary.

One of the best wading boots that I have worn in 40 years. Very comfortable and lightweight. Fantastic.
