Why We Like The Freestone Jacket
Days on the river with a chance of precipitation means we're pulling on the Freestone Jacket before heading out. QuadraLam fabric seals out moisture with Toray 3-layer technology and withstands wear for longer, and fully sealed seams eliminate any weak spots where rain could seep through. Angler-specific features like the fly patch and D-ring ensure we keep everything on us on the water, and molded cuffs are specifically designed so we don't catch a fly line.

Not waterpoof
Nice jacket but it is not waterproof. Everytime I wear it, even in a light rain, it's wet on the inside within an hour. Material is not shedding water, it just absorbs it. I don't trust this jacket enough to take it anywhere important. Feels like a huge waste of money when I have jackets that perform better at 1/4 the price.

so far so good...
Well, I think the fine folks over at simms have done it again. The price is nice, pockets are big, the zippers are solid, and a durable outer shell that has held up to the brush that I've currently put it through. I would recommend this to anyone. From your lowly local fishing guide, to your avid rain dancing enthusiast, this jacket will keep dry while looking good whatever you decide to do. P.S. fish whistle 3.0?

On the Lake, on a boat fishing in steady rain, this jacket will not allow water to break thru. You can run 40 plus MPH without wind or rain making it to your body. Excellent.

Versatile Jacket
5 Star Jacket if it was sized better. Medium is really a large. At least for me. 5’7” 158 lbs. it’s my second wading jacket. First one lasted 10+ years of very hard (nearly daily) in wet and windy Pacific NW before starting to show some wear at the seams. First one a bit too oversized too.
