A Great wading boot!
I fish the rivers of the Rocky Mountains…I am a qualified guide. I fish 75+ days a year. I always wade. My choice of wading has always been a Simms guide boot, because there is no room for compromise. The G4 with Powerlock cleats is a superstar. Everything about this boot is state of the art! The G4 gives you the confidence to focus on the fishing. It provides a sole that allows you to wade slick freestone rivers and high country streams. The ankle support is noteworthy and appropriate. All while providing supreme comfort. I’m pleased with this boot because it so well thought out and designed. It gives you a boot that allows you to get to that spot where you can deliver a Caddis to the rising rainbow…After all, in the water your choice of your boots matters a lot!

Comfortable shoe with no grip.
Boots have absolutely no grip. TPR cleats do nothing and the aluminum cleats extend past the vibram sole considerably leading to excessive wear and cleat retention issues. If you want an expensive pair of shoes for sandy beaches where grip isn't an issue they're great. On a mossy rock you're going to take a tumble. Otherwise they're insanely comfortable for what it's worth. 2 stars for the comfort. Otherwise they'd be 1 star.

Amazing Boot if used lightly
Amazing boot if used Lightly. When guiding or walking on rocks for days over days, they tend to loose the powerlock cleats and locking system is destroyed by rocks thus making the boot unusable.

G4 boots
Boots are comfortable - look well constructed - find them a little more slippery than my worn out G4 boots ( 4 years - 600 days of fishing)- i feel the aluminum cleats protrude too much and i don’t get much enough contact on the vibram . I am very happy with them, in every other aspect - PS - the laces - very bright ?

I have a pair wore maybe 50 time's on 3rd set of shoe laces. Square holes to be redesign. The felt on the bottom is to large and won't except the aluminum cleats. My opinion not worth the money.

Fits like a glove
I will start out by saying these boots fit like a glove and are true to size! I bought them for a two month fishing trip on the South Island of New Zealand. When I first laced them up I was impressed on how well they fit and the great ankle support they provided. On this trip I decided not to use the Aluminum Cleats due to fear that they would spook the super spooky fish of NZ. The TPR cleat did a great on the snotty and slick rocks and the ankle support was amazing! I fished 40 days straight with them and they held up to all the abuse that I threw at them. If you are looking are looking for a one quiver, do it all wading boot these are the ones you want to buy!

Noticeable fit improvement
Massively improved fit. Fit is everything on these. Previous iterations, I thought were pretty tight with proper size simms wader stockingfeet. Made it hard for long days. This fit is perfect. Lacing system is solid and doesn’t loosen on long days. I like the new cleat system. Only reason I didn’t put this as 5 stars is the aluminum quality on the cleats. They wear out faster than I’d expect, but luckily easily replaced. I hope Simms will release a more durable aluminum for replacement cleats.
